Abstract

Under the assumption that the input field is in the coherent state and the atom is prepared in the most excited state, the time evolution of the Mandel Q factor in a system consisting of a cascade atom embedded in a Kerr medium is investigated by using the full quantum mechanical scheme. It is found that Kerr effect has a great influence on the non-classical photon statistics in the case of large single-photon detuning in the system.Kerr effect suppresses non-classical photon statistics for the weak input coherent field and enhances it for the strong input coherent field.

Atomic Transition Transfer in Cascade Three-level Jaynes-Cummings Model with Additional Kerr Medium

Qingchun Zhou

Under the assumption that the input field is in a coherent state and the atom is prepared in the most excited state, the time evolution of atomic populations of a cascade atom embedded in a Kerr medium is investigated by using the full quantum mechanical scheme. It is found that, with a large single-photon detuning,an atomic transition transfer can be realized by changing the intensity of the input field. An explanation to the phenomena is proposed.

Influence of detuning on entanglement evolution of cascade three-level atom in Kerr medium

Kun Li

The effects of optical field coherence parameter, modular photon number,Kerr medium coefficient and detuning on the entanglement evolution of cascade three-level atom in Kerr medium are studied based on quantum theory and numerical calculation. The results show that the entanglement between atoms is enhanced in stronger optical field and the entanglement become steady by increasing the modular photon number.Kerr effect is remarkable in more photon number. With invariable Kerr medium, the increase of detuning will strengthen the entanglement strength, but this effect primarily incarnates on initial time of interacting.

Quantum properties of k-photon Jaynes-Cummings model in a Kerr Medium

Liao Qing-Hong

The system under consideration consists of a two-level atom coupled an optical field in k-photon Jaynes-Cummings model with a Kerr medium. The time evolution of field entropy squeezing and population inversion of the atom for three and four-photon transitions was discussed. The influence of Kerr medium on field entropy squeezing and population inversion of the atom was also analyzed. The results show that the field entropy squeezing and population inversion of the atom are sensitive to effect of Kerr medium.

Dynamics of a deformed atom cavity field system in presence of a Kerr-like medium

Arpita Chatterjee

In this paper, we investigate the interaction between a vee-type three-level atom and a single mode of the electromagnetic field in the presence of a nonlinear Kerr-like medium and an intensity-dependent coupling. We have elucidated the system by a nonlinear Hamiltonian constructed from the standard Jaynes–Cummings model by deforming the field operators and adding some nonlinear terms. Using the initial conditions that the atom is prepared in an excited state and the field is in a coherent state, the state vector of the entire system is determined analytically. The time evolution of nonclassical properties such as Mandel Q, quantum entanglement and position-momentum uncertainty relation (squeezing) of the field are investigated. The quasiprobability distributions are also computed for the resultant state. The effects of the detuning parameters, generalized Kerr medium and intensity-dependent coupling on the previous nonclassicality signs are analysed, in detail.

Dissipative Dynamics of the Jaynes-Cummings Model with a Kerr Medium

Zhu Min

The full quantum theory is applied to the investigation of the entanglement between atom and field and the losses of coherence of the total system and its subsystems in the Jaynes-Cummings model with a Kerr medium.Linear entropies of the system, the atom and the field are calculated under the assumptions of dispersive atom-field interaction and initial coherent field states. The results show that the coherence loss of the atom is independent of the Kerr effect, the coherence loss of the system and that of the field are enhanced by the presence of the Kerr medium, and the entanglement between atom and field is suppressed by the medium. The time evolution of field entropy is affected by the cavity dissipation qualitatively as well as quantitatively.Only through cavity dissipation can the influence of Kerr effect on field entropy exhibit.

The Photon Statistical Properties in the System of the Λ-Type Three-Level Atom Interacting with a Squeezed Coherent Light Field in a Kerr Medium

Liu Su-mei

In this paper, the photon statistical properties vs. time in the system of Λ-type atom interacting with squeezed coherent light field inside a high Q with a Kerr medium is investigated by means of the interacting picture.Meanwhile, the influence of Kerr medium μ, the squeezed light field factors γ the coherent vibration amplitude |α| 2 and the coupling parameters λ of the field-atom on the photon statistical properties are also discussed. It has been shown that the intensity coefficient μ of Kerr medium, the squeezed light field factor γ,the coherent vibration amplitude |α| 2 of the light field and the coupling parameter λ of the field-atom influence the quantum collapse-revival periodicity of the evolution curves of Mandel factor Q(t).Meanwhile, they all influence the states and properties of the photon statistical distribution of radiation field.
