Abstract

There are many distinguishable subtypes of diamond-type four-level optical quantum coherent(OQC) systems, which come with high structural diversity. We selected transition channels properly according to the rules for dipole transition selection. With a corresponding laser field,we used Boolean algebra methods to classify diamond-type four-level OQC systems into nine real-world channel subtypes(RCSs).Also,we went further by classifying those RCSs into eighty so-called intensity subtypes(ISs) exactly, depending on the excitation intensity of the laser for different transition channels. We focused our discussion on the structural diversity of diamond-type four-level systems, while pointing out which substypes have been studied in some aspects and which ones have not even been theoretically studied.

Study on the subschemes of N-type four-level structure of optical quantum coherence system

Qi Zhen

Using the method of Boolean algebra, the N-type four-level quantum coherence system is classified into five realistic channel subschemes by choosing the proper transition channels according to the electric dipole section rule. And they can be further classified into forty eight realistic intensity subschemes exactly according to exciting intensity that is used on different channels. The classification is propitious to sort out and take advantage of the research results about N-type four-level quantum coherence system.

Multiformity of Optical Quantum Coherence Systems with Y and Inverted Y-type Schemes

Xiaodong Liu, Dongdong Meng, Zhang Sen-Lin +2 more

Y and inverted Y-type four-level schemes for optical quantum coherence systems, which may he intuitively considered to be very simple, have not been studied intensively till now. In this paper, we present the multiformity of these two types of schemes by considering that they can be classified into nine possible level styles as the second-order sub-schemes using laser fields. Further we point out the complexity of their more than one hundred realistic configurations as the third-order four-level sub-schemes that may appear in the optical quantum coherence experiments. Throughout this paper we review which configurations have been studied in some research aspects and which ones not, according to our knowledge, in order to be propitious to next steps of theoretical and experimental investigations, especially for applications in the fields of quantum optics, quantum information science, laser spectroscopy, and so on.

Multiformality of 1st, 2nd and 3rd-order Subschemes of Four-Level Optical Quantum Coherence Systems

Xiao Dong Liu, Lei Dong, Dong Meng +1 more

Many quantum optical and optoelectronic achievements have been obtained by using quantum coherence effects occurred in four-level quantum systems. Here we report a systemic study on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd order subschemes of the four-level scheme with the aid of Boolean algebra, and find 7 1st order subschemes and 53 2nd order subschemes in total. Further it is found that 472 3rd-order subschemes may appear in the realistic optical quantum coherence experiments when the applied lasers are distinguished only by the strong and weak field intensities.

Fifteen-dimensional optical Bloch dynamics and subspace decomposition in a four-level diamond system

Dawit Hiluf Hailu

Abstract This paper investigates the dynamics of a four-level diamond-type quantum system using the Alhassid–Levine (AL) and Hioe–Eberly (HE) formalisms. In the configuration considered, the Stokes fields β j ( t ) ( j = 1 , 2 ) drive the transitions | 1 ⟩ ↔ | 4 ⟩ and | 2 ⟩ ↔ | 3 ⟩ , while the pump fields α j ( t ) couple the transitions | 1 ⟩ ↔ | 2 ⟩ and | 3 ⟩ ↔ | 4 ⟩ . We first establish the correspondence between the AL and HE approaches and then derive the complete coherence-vector equations of motion within the su ( 4 ) Lie algebra using all fifteen generators subject to the normalization constraint. A central result of this work is the demonstration that when all driving fields share an identical temporal profile, differing only in amplitude, the fifteen-dimensional dynamics decomposes into six invariant subspaces with dimensions 1 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , and 4 . Each subspace evolves independently and possesses its own conserved norm in the coherent limit. This decomposi

ODMR on Single TR12 Centers in Diamond

Jonas Foglszinger, Andrej Denisenko, Thomas Kornher +5 more

Point defects in insulators are considered promising candidates for quantum technologies. In keeping with this, we present an extensive optically-detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) study at room-temperature on individual TR12 centers (ZPL at 471nm), which are known in the literature since 1956. In this work we found TR12 centers to show a strong ODMR signal under optical saturation. These observed defects were created in high-purity epitaxial layers of diamond by standard irradiation and annealing processes. From the analysis of the ODMR spectra along with antibunching measurements and coherent population trapping, we proposed the energy level structure of TR12 center, consisting of ground state and excited state singlets complemented by a metastable triplet in between. Mapping the fluorescence dependence of the center on an external magnetic field and on the polarization of laser excitation, allows us to identify twelve inequivalent orientations for TR12 centers. This includes the exact orientations of the dipole transition and the triplet axes in the diamond lattice in full agreement with the results of modeling based on the proposed level structure. Furthermore, a static Jahn-Teller effect was detected through fluorescence switching between two levels at low optical excitation power, directly observable in the real-time fluorescence signal for various polarization of laser excitation. Based on these results we discuss the prospects of the TR12 center in diamond for quantum sensing and quantum information processing.
