Abstract

By adding the delta barrier of one dimensional semi- infinite deep potential well, and solving the schrodinger equation, the related formula of particle movement of wave function and energy level are obtained. Through analysis we found that the delta barrier to add and its change on the energy level of the position and strength are affected. Contrast does not contain the delta barrier in one dimensional semi- infinite deep trap energy level. In addition,we explore the delta barrier to add to the impact of the original energy level, and use the Mathematica graphic visual indication to this effect.

Graphical Approach to Eigenvalue Problems of The One-Dimensional Finite Deep Square Potential Well

Shu Long

The one-dimensional finite-depth potential well problem under certain boundary conditions discussed in this paper is mainly the eigenvalue problem in quantum mechanics. The basis of this article is the solution of Schrodinger equation and the treatment of transcendental equation. In many quantum mechanics textbooks, the one-dimensional infinite potential well problem is regarded as the foundation of quantum mechanics because it is easy to handle and understand. On this basis, this paper discusses the more challenging finite-depth potential well situation. In this paper, the transcendental equation is obtained by analogy between the wave function with time and the continuity of the boundary conditions. In order to solve the problem that transcendental equation is difficult to solve in this process, this paper adopts the method of solving numerical solutions by using images, which includes two different cases of odd and even functions. This paper reveals the possibility of particles appearing outside the well in this problem, and on this basis, some discussions and analysis are made on the one-dimensional asymmetric finite-depth potential well problem.

Modelling the Tunneling in 1D Schrodinger Equation Using Graphical User Interface

Alpi Mahisha Nugraha, Nurullaeli Nurullaeli

Quantum tunneling is a phenomenon where particles have a probability of penetrating a potential barrier despite having total energy llower than the barrier height. This study analyzes the tunneling effect by solving the one-dimensional (1D) Schrodinger equation using the finite difference method to obtain the wave function evolution for various potential barrier configurations. The solution is implemented in a Graphical User Interface (GUI) MATLAB to facilitate analysis and visualization, allowing users to interactively adjust potential parameters, energy, and other conditions. Simualation results demonstratehow transmission probability depends on energy, height and width of potential barrier. This GUI provides an intiuitive tool for exploring quantun tunneling, making it valuable for both education and research in quantum physics.

Energy Spectrum of a Particle in an Infinitely Deep Potential Well with a Non-flat Bottom

S. I. Denisov, Stanislav Ivanovych Denysov, A.V. Husachenko +1 more

To model the quantum behavior of current carriers in heterogeneous nanostructures, different potential wells and barriers are widely used. Of particular interest are those (including artificial ones) for which the corresponding Schrödinger equation can be solved exactly. One of them is an infinitely deep potential well with a flat bottom defined as 𝑈(𝑥) = ∞ for |𝑥| ≥ 𝑎 and 𝑈(𝑥) = 0 for |𝑥| < 𝑎. Here, we report on exact solution of the stationary Schrödinger equation in the case, when the potential bottom is non-flat, i.e., 𝑈(𝑥) = −𝑓𝑥 (𝑓 > 0) if |𝑥| < 𝑎. Physically, this means that the particle in the well is subjected to an external force 𝑓 in the 𝑥-direction.

Simulation Analysis of Factors Affecting the Quantum Tunneling Effect in 1D Double Potential Barriers Structures

Chenyang Liu

The working principle of a large number of modern scientific equipment has been applied to the quantum tunneling effect. Although the explanations for the relevant principles of this effect are clarified, the calculation process is very complex and difficult to understand. Previous studies combine specific applications without theoretical model references. This study adopts the method of using the time-independent Schrodinger equation to solve the wave function, which is more convenient to obtain the expression of transmission probability. Then, one discusses the relationship between transmission probability and potential barrier width, potential barrier spacing, and incident particle energy. The experimental results show that the transmission probability decreases exponentially from 1 to 0 as the potential barrier width gradually increases. As the potential barrier width increases, the transmission probability exhibits a clear periodic oscillation relationship, the oscillation period remains unchanged, and this paper derives the relationship between the oscillation period and the potential barrier width. As the incident energy of particles gradually increases, the transmission probability exhibits periodic changes, and the minimum value of transmission probability increases with the periodic changes. Based on the analysis, the smaller the potential barrier width, the greater the incident energy, and the more likely quantum tunneling occurs.

The Derivation of the Medium Wave Function in a One-Dimensional Finite Deep Symmetrical Square Potential Well

Zhao Peng-y

Three methods-a documental analysis, a textual method, a comprehensive analysis- are used in this article to analyze the energy levels of motional particles and their wave functions of one-dimensional finite deep symmetrical square potential wells, thus solving the eigen-values and eigen-functions at their corresponding energetic levels. Due to the three following advantages of a one-dimensional problem-its simpler mathematical processing, and the possible detailed-discussed results, and the display of the many features of quantum systems, so in the paper, the eigen-values and the exact formulas of the wave functions of moving particles in a one-dimensional finite deep symmetric square potential wells, which are not specified in the textbooks, are deviated according to the Schrodinger equation of stationary state through a case study of moving particles in a one-dimensional finite deep symmetric square potential wells.
