Two solutions of correlation function of entangled photon pair

Abstract

Two solutions of correlation function of entangled photon pair in quantum optics are introduced. The first method uses the commutation relation of raising and lowering operator;the second method is called the second quantization. For the latter, one does not need to use any commutation relation, thus it is very convenient.

PAIR CORRELATIONS OF ELECTRONS IN THE THEORY OF ATOMS. PART< I

L. N. Labzovskiǐ

For describing the pair correlations of the electrons in the many- electron systems a new method of reducing the many-particle problem to the two- particle problem is developed. Instead of the wave function, one- and twoparticle density matrices are used. In the process of deriving an equation for the two-particle wave function, which describes a pair of electrons in the field of the others, a transition to the second quantization representation is accomplished. The solution of the obtained equation is carried out with the help of perturbation theory. (auth)

First, Second Quantization and Q-Deformed Harmonic Oscillator

Man Van Ngu, Ngo Gia Vinh, Nguyen Tri Lan +2 more

Relations between the first, the second quantized representations and deform algebra are investigated. In the case of harmonic oscillator, the axiom of first quantization (the commutation relation between coordinate and momentum operators) and the axiom of second quantization (the commutation relation between creation and annihilation operators) are equivalent. We shown that in the case of q -deformed harmonic oscillator, a violence of the axiom of second quantization leads to a violence of the axiom of first quantization, and inverse. Using the coordinate representation, we study fine structures of the vacuum state wave function depend in the deformation parameter q . A comparison with fine structures of Cooper pair of superconductivity in the coordinate representation is also performed.

Entanglement and reduction in two-photon correlations

Arthur Jabs

For a number of basic experiments on two-photon intensity correlations, it is pointed out that the results, which are usually explained in terms of the formalism of canonical field quantization, can also be explained in terms of quantum wavepackets, where reduction and entanglement are taken into account.

Nonlinear optical tomography of q-deformed entangled pair coherent states

Eied Mahmoud Khalil, A.‐B. A. Mohamed, A.‐S. F. Obada +1 more

We introduce entangled pair coherent states of a noncommutative harmonic oscillator operators associated with a q-deformed oscillator algebra. The definition of two-mode q-deformed operator and the decomposition of its eigenstates in terms of the q-deformed Fock states are obtained. The general solution of the recurrence relation of the first nondeformed quadrature is obtained. The asymptotic behavior of the general solution is studied, a complete expansion is derived, and also representations of the general solution in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric function are given. Also, we prove that the general solution is related to Meixner-Pollaczek orthogonal polynomial and calculate the weight function. The photons number distribution, the second order correlation function and the optical tomogram of the entangled pair coherent states are discussed. The recurrence relation for the first q-deformed quadrature is inferred. We evaluate the eigenstate of the q-deformed quadrature operator and give a numerical study for the optical tomogram of the q-deformed of the entangled pair coherent states. Finally, we show the change of the parameters in the entangled pair coherent states that connected with physical quantities and explain how they affect the format of optimal tomography.

Partial Coherence and Entanglement

Bahaa E. A. Saleh, Malvin Carl Teich, Alexander V. Sergienko

The two-photon wave function that characterizes light in a two-photon entangled state obeys equations similar to the Wolf equations describing the mutual coherence function. A duality between coherence and entanglement has been established, and a van Cittert-Zernike theorem is applicable. Intensity correlation is described by a Siegert-type relation that is devoid of the deleterious background term.

Photon Correlations and Entanglement: Foundational Issues and Some Applications

C. S. Unnikrishnan

I briefly review second order or two-photon correlations starting from the Hanbury Brown-Twiss correlations to its modern versions in quantum optics studies. With this background, I address some foundational issues in the physics of quantum correlations and quantum entanglement and argue in favour of the validity of Einstein locality, to settle a long-standing debate. Understanding entanglement from this perspective has applications in quantum information theory, especially in gaining intuition about the relation between different measures of entanglement and its time evolution. Some examples are highlighted. I discuss how ideas on photon correlations applied to squeezing fluctuations in coherent light have become important in metrology, and perhaps crucial, in the successful operation of high sensitivity gravitational wave detectors.
