Abstract

A generic attribute-based key encapsulation mechanism, which was to prevent chosen-ciphertext attack, was designed for the first time. The key derivation phase in the standard model was subdivided into randomness extraction and key derivation. On this basis,a new attribute-based authenticated key agreement protocol was constructed, which defined to be a provable secure model and its security was proven in the standard model.

Enhanced Attribute-Based Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol in the Standard Model

Liping Qian

In this paper,we propose an enhanced attribute-based authenticated key agreement(ABAKA)protocol in the standard model. We construct our protocol based on Waters' ciphertextpolicy attribute-based encryption with a simple and compact conversion technique to the chosenplaintext attack(CPA)security from the chosen-ciphertext attack(CCA)security. The protocol is provably secure in the CK+ model which provides the strongest definition of security for authenticated key agreement protocol at present. The protocol can provide weak perfect forward secrecy and resist key compromise impersonation and leakage of ephemeral key attacks.Compared with the existing ABAKA protocols, our protocol is more efficient in communication cost and obtains stronger security.

Attribute-based Authenticated Key Exchange.

M. Choudary Gorantla, Colin Boyd, Juan Manuel González Nieto

Abstract. We introduce the concept of attribute-based authenticated key exchange (AB-AKE) within the framework of ciphertext policy attribute-based systems. A notion of AKE-security for AB-AKE is presented based on the security models for group key exchange protocols and also taking into account the security requirements generally considered in the ciphertext policy attribute-based setting. We also extend the paradigm of hybrid encryption to the ciphertext policy attribute-based encryption schemes. A new primitive called encapsulation policy attribute-based key encapsulation mechanism (EP-AB-KEM) is introduced and a notion of chosen ciphertext security is defined for EP-AB-KEMs. We propose an EP-AB-KEM from an existing attribute-based encryption scheme and show that it achieves chosen ciphertext security in the generic group and random oracle models. We present a generic one-round AB-AKE protocol that satisfies our AKE-security notion. The protocol is generically constructed from any EP-AB-KEM that satisfies chosen ciphertext security. Instantiating the generic AB-AKE protocol with our EP-AB-KEM will result in a concrete one-round AB-AKE protocol also secure in the generic group and random oracle models.

Analysis and improvement of identity-based authenticated key agreement

MU Ning-bo

The security of a provably secure identity-based authenticated key agreement protocol in the standard model was analyzed, and it was found that the protocol used in escrowless mode has security flaws. When the private key generator(PKG) is controlled or attacked, all of the session keys can be obtained. To resist this attack, the identity-based authenticated key agreement protocol was improved. This new protocol was proven to be secure in the standard model and has the property of not needing session key escrow.

Provably Secure Identity-Based Authenticated Key Agreement Protocols in the Standard Model

Sheng Wang

This paper presents an identity-based key agreement protocols that are provably secure without random oracles(namely,in the standard model). It is inspired by a new identity-based encryption scheme first proposed by Gentry. This paper details how this key agreement can be used in either escrowed or escrowless mode. All the proposed protocols are compared performance(with respect to computational and communication efficiencies) to all known protocols that are only proven secure in the random oracle model.

Analysis and improvement of ID-based authenticated key agreement protocols

Qiuliang Xu

The security attributes of three provable secure ID-based authenticated key agreement protocols are analyzed, and an enhanced ID-based authenticated key agreement protocol is presented based on the previous work. The new scheme achieves most of the known security attributes, such as known-key secrecy,key-compromise impersonation resilience, unknown key-share resilience,no-key control and message independence, especially the PKG-forward secrecy and known session-specific temporary information secrecy attributes, meanwhile keeping with the nice efficiency.

Universally Composable Attribute-based Group Key Exchange

Zenghui Zhao, Yunfang Hao

Several protocols implementing attribute-based group key exchange, which allows users with certain set of attributes to establish a session key, have been proposed in recent years. However, attacks on attribute-based group key exchange in current research have been considered only in stand-alone fashion. Thus these protocols may be vulnerable when run with other protocol sessions concurrently. We treat the security of attribute-based group key exchange in the universal composability framework to ensure that a protocol remains secure when run with arbitrary protocol sessions concurrently.More specifically, we define an ideal functionality for attribute-based group key exchange first, then propose a two-round protocol based on a primitive called encapsulation policy attribute-based key encapsulation mechanism. In addition, a complete security proof of our protocol in the universal composability framework under random oracle model is given. Encapsulation Policy Attribute-based Key Encapsulation Mechanism (EP-AB-KEM)The EP-AB-KEM introduced by Gorantla et al. and used by our protocol follows the framework of ciphertext policy attribute based encryption (CP-ABE).An EP-AB-KEM consists of five probabilistic polynomial time algorithm listed below.(1) Setup: inputs system security parameter and attribute universe description, then outputs system public parameters PK and system master key MK.
