Abstract

In this paper, we in vestigate the influence of the interaction between correla-ted two-mode SU(1,1) coherent states and a V type three-level atom on the ato-mic dynamic behavior, and discuss the time evolution of the quantum statistical pro-perties of two-mode field. The Rabi oscillations show complete different character~3 compared with initial two-mode squeezed vacuum states or SU(2) coherent states.

INTERACTION OF TWO-MODE SU(1,1) COHERENT STATES WITH THE V-TYPE THREE-LEVEL ATOM IN A KERR-LIKE-MEDIUM

LAI YUN-ZHONG, Liang Jiu-Qing, (1)山西大学理论物理研究所; (2)太原重型机械学院基础部

We first derive the state vector of a V-type three-level atom interacting with two-mode SU (1,1) coherent states in a Kerr-like medium. It is shown by numericl calculations that the Kerr effect results indifferent characters of the Rabi oscillation, as compared with the two-levelatom case, while the correlation of the two-mode coherent states is less affected by the the Kerr medium. We also discuss the influence of Kerr effect on the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality.

Interaction of a three-level atom with an SU(2) coherent state

W. K. Lai, V. Buek, P. L. Knight

In this paper we investigate the sensitivity of coupled atomic transitions to correlations between field modes. In particular, we show that a three-level atom interacting with a cavity field supporting two quantized modes can be highly sensitive to the nature of the correlations between the modes. Correlated two-mode states include the two-mode squeezed state, whereas the SU(2) coherent state is an example of an anticorrelated state. We study in detail the dynamics of a three-level atom in the \ensuremath{\lambda} configuration, interacting with the two modes of an SU(2) coherent state. We show that for certain choices of the atom-field coupling constants, the generalized two-photon Rabi frequency for the system becomes independent of the photon number, leading to a purely periodic behavior in time of the atomic population probabilities; for other choices of the atom-field coupling constants, we observe the usual collapse and revival of the Rabi oscillations. We study also the dynamics of the field, in particular the correlations between the modes. Finally, for comparison purposes, we present a parallel study of the case in which the field modes are initially uncorrelated.

The quantum dynamics of two-mode SU(1,1) coherent state interacting with a four-level atom

Xie Fang-sen

The state function of the two-mode SU(1,1) coherent states field interacting with a four-level atom is derived by means of quantum theory. It is studied that the two-mode intensity correlation function, the Cauchy-Schwartz inequality and the second-order coherence properties for each mode of the light field in the system of the two-mode SU(1,1) coherent states field interacting with four-level atom.It is discussed that the influence of the coupling coefficient between the light field and atom and the initial intensity of the light field on file quantum dynamics of the light field. The results of the studies indicate that the statistic properties of the photon depend on the initial state of the system, the correlation of the two-mode of light is both positive and non-classical,the photon anti-bunching of the first mode appear at all time, and the photon bunching and anti-bunching of the second mode appear alternately.

Dynamics of a two-mode two-photon Jaynes–Cummings model interacting with correlated SU(1, 1) coherent states

Christopher C. Gerry, Ronald F. Welch

We study the quantum dynamics of a two-mode two-photon Jaynes–Cummings model of a two-level atom interacting with the correlated two-mode SU(1, 1) coherent states. The collapse and revival patterns in this case are noted to be quite different from those in the case of uncorrelated coherent states and correlated pair-coherent states. As an example of the time evolution of the field statistics we show that violation of the Cauchy–Schwartz inequality by the initial field states may be nullified. We also discuss the evolution of the variance of the two-mode field quadrature operator.

STATISTICAL PROPERTIES OF SU(1,1)COHERENT STATES OF LIGHT AND ITS INFLUENCE N DYNAMICAL BEHAVIORS OF THE ATOM

Eng J

Abstract In this paper, we study the properties of two kinds of SU(1.1) coherent statesof light with Bargman index k=1/4 andk=3/4 and show that they posses diffe-rent quantum statistical properties. The atomic dynamical behavior in a two-photonJaynes-Cummings model with initial SU(1,1) coherent state field are discussed. Weshow that the time evolution of atomic inversion displays peculiar periodic oscilla-tion and pulse which are very different from coherent states of light.

The dynamic behavior of atoms and nonclassical properties of the two-mode field in the system of nondegenerate two-photon interacting of SU(2) coherents tates with two atoms are studied. Influences of the total photon number the par tition parameter and the dipole-dipole interaction on the atomic dynamic behav ior and the quantum statistics properties of the two-mode field are discussed.
