Abstract

The time evolution of the field quantum entropy in the system of a multi-mode coherent field interacting with a two-level atom through the non-degenerate multi-photon process is investigated using the Von Neumann reduced entropy, the analytical expression of the multimode field entropy including the frequency detuning is obtained. The numerical results for the three-mode field interacting with the atom are presented. The influence of the frequency detuning on the field quantum entropy is discussed. It is found that the frequency detuning has nearly no effect on the entanglement between the three-mode coherent field and the two-level atom when the field and the atom are near resonance, but the time evolution of the field quantum entropy is strongly dependent on the values of the frequency detuning when the field and the atom are far from resonance, especially when the frequency detuning is large enough, the field and the atom are nearly always in entangled states.

Evolution of the entropy of light field interacting with the V-type three-level atom via intensity-dependent coupling

Huang Chun-Jia, He Hui-Yong, Kong Fan-Zhi +2 more

The evolution properties of the entropy of a single-mode light field interacting with the V-type three-level atom via intensity-dependent coupling have been studied. The discussion is centered on the influence of detuning and initial photon number on the field entropy evolution. The results show that the behavi or of the field entropy is non-periodic for the cases of small detuning and weak initial light field, being similar to the single-photon Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM). On the contrary, the field entropy evolution is periodic for the cases of large detuning or strong initial light field, being similar to the two-photon JCM

Evolution of the quantum fidelity in a system of multimode light field interacting resonantly with a two-level atom through degenerate multi-photon process

Wang Ju-xia

The time evolution properties of the quantum fidelity in a system of multi-mode coherent light field resonantly interacting with a two-level atom via any Nj-degenerate N∑-photon transition process are studied by the fully quantum theory and numerical calculations. The analytical expressions of the quantum fidelity of field and atom, and the numerical calculation results for three-mode field interacting with the atom are obtained. Our attention focuses on the discussion of the influences of the initial average photon number, the atomic distribution angle, the phase angle of the atom dipole, the field excitation angle, and the atomic degeneracy on the evolution of the quantum fidelity. The results obtained from the numerical calculation indicate that the above factors lead to the quantum fidelity changing with oscillation behavior. The quantum fidelity of field and atom will drastically decrease as the initial light increases, which is correlated sensitively with the fidelity. The speed change of quantum fidelity is strongly dependent on the atomic degeneracy and the intensity coupling between atoms and fields. The value and frequency of the quantum fidelity change lightly with the atomic distribution angle and the angle of light field excitation as well. The phase angles of the atom dipole almost have no influences on the quantum fidelity of field and atom. According to these properties of the quantum fidelity, we can control the speed and value of quantum fidelity in the system by these constraint conditions.

Evolution of field entropy and entanglement in the intensity-dependent two-mode Jaynes–Cummings model

Gao Yun-feng, Jian Feng, Ji‐Suo Wang

The evolution of the entanglement degree of two-mode fields and atom with the intensity-dependent coupling is investigated using von Neumann entropy. The results for the initial fields in both coherent states and two-mode squeezed vacuum state are calculated. The influence of the field intensity on the entropy is discussed. It is found that the field and atom are generally in maximum entanglement but subject to periodic pulsed disentanglement completely under the condition of strong initial field.

Evolution of Field Entropy with a Time-varing Frequency in the Multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings Model

LU Dao-ming

By using the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model, the dynamical properties of the field entropy in the system that consists of a two-level atom interacting with a single-mode field via multiphoton transition are studied. The frequency of the field varying with time in the form of u sin wt has been considered. The results show that the time-evolution behavior of the field entropy is modulated by the frequency variation of field using the numerical. The modulation intensity is enchanced as the amplitude u of frequency variation of field increases. When the amplitude u of the time varying fields is larger than a fixed value, the time-evolution behavior of the field entropy will display periodic oscillation behavior. Its oscillation period agrees with the period of frequency varying. It shows that the evolution of field entropy is influenced by the frequency parameters w and u of the field varying with time.

Dynamics of Entanglement Between Moving Three-Level Atom and Single Mode Cavity Field

Ahmed Salah

In this paper, we are interested in studying entropy and dynamics entanglement between a single time dependent three-level atoms interacting with one-mode cavity field when the atomic motion is taken into account. An exact analytical solution for the wave function is given by using Schrodinger equation for a specific initial condition. The field entropy of this system is investigated in the non-resonant case. The influences of the detuning parameters and atomic motion on the entanglement degree are examined. We show that both of the detuning parameters and atomic motion play important roles in the evolution of von Neumann entropy and atomic populations. Finally, conclusion and some features are given.

On the interaction between a time-dependent field and a two-level atom

N. H. Abdel-Wahab, Ahmed Salah

In this paper, we study the interaction between the time-dependent field and a two-level atom with one mode electromagnetic field. We consider that the field of photons is assumed to be coupled with modulated coupling parameter which depends explicitly on time. It is shown that the considered model can be reduced to a well-known form of the time-dependent generalized Jaynes–Cummings model. Under special initial conditions, in which the atom and the field are prepared in the excited and the coherent states, respectively, the explicit time evolution of the wave function of the entire system is analytically obtained. Our proposal has many advantages over the previous optical schemes and can be realized in several multiple experiments, such as trapped ions and quantum electrodynamics cavity. The influence of the time-dependent field parameter on the collapses-revivals, the normal squeezing of the radiation, the anti-bunching of photons and the entanglement phenomena for the considered atomic system is examined. The linear entropy, the von Neumann entropy are used to quantify entanglement in the quantum systems. We noticed that these phenomena are affected by the existence of both the time-dependent coupling field and detuning parameters.
