Abstract

This paper introduces the squeezed photon-added coherent states defined by |α,m,ξ〉=S(ξ)a+m|α〉up to a normalization constant, where |α〉is a coherent state,m an integer and S(ξ) a squeezing operator. It studies the mathematical and physical properties of such states.Phase squeezing character of the fields in such states is demonstrated. The conclusion shows that the more field quadrature x is squeezed, the larger squeezing parameter becomes.

Photon-added coherent states as nonlinear coherent states

S. Sivakumar

The states |α,m〉, defined as â †m|α 〉 up to a normalization constant and m is a nonnegative integer, are shown to be the eigenstates of f(ˆn,m)â where f(ˆn,m) is a nonlinear function of the number operator ˆn. The explicit form of f(ˆn,m) is constructed. The eigenstates of this operator for negative values of m are introduced. The properties of these states are discussed and compared with those of the state |α,m〉.

Nonclassical properties of photon-added pair coherent states

H. Lu, Guo Guang-Can

The two-mode photon-added state defined by |?, q; m>?=?a+mb+m|?, q> up to a normalization constant is introduced, where |?, q> is a pair coherent state and m an integer. It is shown that the fields in such a state have remarkable quantum features such as sub-Poissonian statistics, violations of Cauch-Schwarz inequalities, correlations in the number fluctuations and squeezing. We examine the influence of photon-adding on the properties of pair coherent state, and propose a method of generating two-mode photon-added states in the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics.

Photon-added nonlinear coherent states

Xiao-guang Wang, P. O. Box, Typeset Using Revtex

The photon-added nonlinear coherent states, defined as ${a}^{\\dagger m}|\\alpha, f>$ up to a normalization constant, are still nonlinear coherent states with the nonlinear function $f(N-m)[1-m/(N+1)]$. Here $% |\\alpha, f>$ is the nonlinear coherent state with the nonlinear function $f(N)$, $N$ is the number operator, $a^{\\dagger}$ is the boson creation operator and $m$ is a non-negative integer. We introduce a new type of nonlinear coherent states with the nonlinear function $f(N+m)[1+m/(N+1)]$ obtained from the photon-added nonlinear coherent states with negative values of $m.$ The nonlinear coherent states corresponding to the positive and negative values of $m$ are shown to be the result of nonunitarily deforming the number states $|m>$ and $|0>$, respectively. As an example, we study the sub-Poissonian statistics and squeezing effects of the photon-added geometric states with negative values of $m$ in detail.

A new type of photon-added squeezed coherent state and its statistical properties

周军, 范洪义, 宋军

We construct a new type of photon-added squeezed coherent state generated by repeatedly operating the bosonic creation operator on a new type of squeezed coherent state [Fan H Y and Xiao M 1996 Phys. Lett. A 220 81]. We find that its normalization factor is related to single-variable Hermite polynomials. Furthermore, we investigate its statistical properties, such as Mandel’s Q parameter, photon-number distribution, and Wigner function. The nonclassicality is displayed in terms of the intense oscillation of photon-number distribution and the negativity of the Wigner function.

The Special Quantum Character of the Two-Photon Coherent State from the Ideal Squeezed State

Zhu Hong

We investigate the average number of photons in the two-photon coherent state by comparison with the ideal squeezed state and find that it relates to the quantum fluctuation of the quadrature and the phase of the initial coherent state. The physical significance of the relations is analyzed in detail.
