Abstract

The transformation from quantum pure state to mixed state is discussed. On the basis of density matrix and Kraus theory, the decoherence of relative phase damping in three-level atom is studied. The calculation has shown the density operator to the decoherence of relative phase damping in three-level atom.It comes to a conclusion that the decoherence of relative phase damping is due to the decay to the non-diagonal element of density matrix.

Decoherence in a driven three-level system

A. R. P. Rau, Weichang Zhao

Dissipation and decoherence, and the evolution from pure to mixed states in quantum physics, are handled through master equations for the density matrix. Master equations such as the Lindblad equation preserve the trace of this matrix. Viewing them as first-order time-dependent operator equations for the elements of the density matrix, a unitary integration procedure can be adapted to solve for these elements. A simple model for decoherence preserves the Hermiticity of the density matrix. A single, classical Riccati equation is the only one requiring numerical handling to obtain a full solution of the quantum evolution. The procedure is general, valid for any number of levels, but is illustrated here for a three-level system with two driving fields. For various choices of the initial state, we study the evolution of the system as a function of the amplitudes, relative frequencies, and phases of the driven fields and of the strength of the decoherence. The monotonic growth of the entropy is followed as the system evolves from a pure to a mixed state. An example is provided by the $n=3$ states of the hydrogen atom in a time-dependent electric field, such degenerate manifolds affording an analytical solution.

Decoherence properties of a two-level atom in the processes with disintegeraton and transition

Deng-Yu Zhang

The two-level atom is regarded as a quantum-bit in quantum information. On the basis of reducible density rectangular array theory, quantum pure state and mixed states analysis methods are used. The two-level atoms decoherence properties are studied in the processes with disintegration and transition.

A nonlinear interaction between SU(1,1) quantum system and a three-level atom in different configurations with damping term

A.‐S. F. Obada, M. M. A. Ahmed, Mohamed Abu-Shady +3 more

Abstract The effect of nonlinear medium and phase damping is investigated on an atom of three levels in different forms interacting with the SU(1,1) Lie algebra. The SU(1,1) system starts the interaction from the Perelomov coherent state, while the atom starts the interaction from excited-most state. The time dependent wave function is calculated by using the Schrödinger equation. The density matrix is obtained. The influences of damping, nonlinearity (Kerr-like medium), Perelomov coherent parameter and the Bargmann index on some non-classical properties, such as: revivals-collapses phenomenon, entanglement and atomic variables squeezing, are investigated.

Dynamical Properties in System of a Coherent FieldInteracting with Two Coupled Atoms

Dai Sai-ping

The properties of state evolution of the atom, field, and atom-field system in the system of two two-level atoms inside a phase-damping cavity interaction with a coherent field under the condition of large detuning are investigated by using the distance between density operators. The effects of the mean photon number of the filed and the phase damping on the dynamical behaviour in the system are discussed. The results show that the cavity phase damping can change the characters of the distance between density operators of the field and the atom-field system significantly, but the state evolution of the atom is independent of the cavity phase damping.

Entanglement for Moving Three-Level Atom Under Decoherence Effect

S. Abdel‐Khalek, K. Berrada, Mohamed Ridza Wahiddin

We discuss the dynamical properties of quantum entanglement and partial entropy for moving three-level atom interacting with single-mode quantized field inside a phase-damped cavity for more general cases. The results show that the atomic motion and decoherence effects play an important role on the evolution of the system dynamics and quantum entanglement. Moreover, we show that the phenomena of long lived nonlocal correlation and short temporal disentanglement can be generated through specific values of phase damping and atomic motion parameter.
