Abstract

A scheme is proposed for implementing entanglement purification with trapped atoms through adiabatic passage and detecting the photon decays from the cavities. The scheme is robust against certain noise such as atomic spontaneous emission and the detector inefficiency.

With trapped atoms, we propose an experimental scheme to implement entanglement swapping based on adiabatic passage and the detection of cavity decay. This scheme is inherently robust to diverse sources of noise, such as atomic spontaneous emission, or detector inefficiency. The advantages make it realizable with the current experimental technology.

We propose a scheme for concentrating entanglement of partially entangled states for atoms trapped in the distant cavities. The scheme is based on adiabatic passage and photonic interference. It is robust against a number of practical noises such as the violation of the Lamb–Dicke condition, spontaneous emission and detection inefficiency.

Quantum entanglement of distant particles via adiabatic passage

Xiyao Chen

A scheme for quantum entanglement of distant particles via adiabatic passage is proposed. When a Λ-type atom interacts with laser and cavity fields adiabatically, the state of the system evolves in a dark state. As the entanglement of distant atoms or cavities is implemented adiabatically, the proposal is robust to atomic spontaneous emission noise. The biggest success probability is 0.5.
