Abstract

To improve the communication security of TTC network, this paper presents an application model of quantum key distribution technology in distributed aerospace TTC network with the method of delay tolerant network. It sets up the quantum key distribution system between ground station and spacecraft, and uses spacecraft to encrypt the key and transmit it as an agency to make two ground stations get shared key safely. The shared key is used to encrypt the information in public channel to keep it safe.In the process of transmitting shared key,in view of the characteristic of delay tolerant network, this paper has improved the epidemic routing algorithm and simulated it.The result shows that the efficiency of epidemic routing algorithm after improved has increased substantially.

Design of Information Encryption Transmission Method for Power System Communication Network Based on Quantum Secure Communication Technology

Weilun Lao, Ken Chen

This paper proposes an information encryption transmission method for power system communication network based on quantum security communication technology, which can effectively encrypt the information in power system and ensure the security of information transmission. Based on quantum secure communication technology, the communication network architecture of power system is constructed. Quantum-layer quantum key distribution Network (QKD) uses BB84 protocol to realize quantum information exchange and optical synchronization, provide quantum key to control layer, and encrypt network information of power system. The control layer is responsible for monitoring QKD status, reasonably managing keys, and issuing communication commands to the communication layer. The communication layer switch encrypts and transmits the power system communication network data generated by the application layer through the minimum attenuation routing algorithm according to the controller instruction. Experiments show that this method can realize the information encryption of power system communication network, and the quantum key encryption function, key source exchange function and the number of encryption services meet the requirements. The application of this method can improve the throughput and communication connectivity of power system communication network.

With the development of the Internet, information security has attracted great attention in today’s society, and quantum cryptography communication network based on quantum key distribution (QKD) is a very important part of this field, since the quantum key distribution combined with one-time-pad encryption scheme can guarantee the unconditional security of the information. The secret key generated by quantum key distribution protocols is a very valuable resource, so making full use of key resources is particularly important. Software definition network (SDN) is a new type of network architecture, and it separates the control plane and the data plane of network devices through OpenFlow technology, thus it realizes the flexible control of the network resources. In this paper, a quantum cryptography communication network model based on SDN is proposed to realize the flexible control of quantum key resources in the whole cryptography communication network. Moreover, we propose a routing algorithm which takes into account both the hops and the end-to-end availible keys, so that the secret key generated by QKD can be used effectively. We also simulate this quantum cryptography communication network, and the result shows that based on SDN and the proposed routing algorithm the performance of this network is improved since the effective use of the quantum key resources.

A Dynamic-Routing Algorithm Based on a Virtual Quantum Key Distribution Network

Lin Bi, Minghui Miao, Xiaoqiang Di

Quantum key distribution (QKD) is an encrypted communication technique based on the principles of quantum mechanics that ensures communication security by exploiting the properties of quantum states. Currently, the transmission efficiency of the QKD system is low. Trusted relay technology is used to solve this problem and achieve long-distance transmission. However, trusted relaying alone cannot decrypt the issues of poor link stability and the low utilization of key resources. To further optimize the system performance, we propose a dynamic routing algorithm. One of the improvement schemes includes the following: firstly, an adjustable-size quantum key pool (QKP) is designed, which can dynamically adjust the size of the refreshing pool according to the actual demand. Secondly, the utilization of key resources is improved by using the residual quantum key model to dynamically obtain the remaining key amount in the QKP and set the key amount threshold. We calculate the link-blocking probability and track the blocking intensity and blocking entry by combining the Poisson process, thus realizing the evaluation of the link stability. Finally, the number of remaining keys in the QKP and the link-blocking probability combine with the random wandering model as the basis of the route selection for the QKD dynamic routing algorithm to achieve efficient key path selection. We validated the algorithm by comparing it with other algorithms on the Mininet simulation platform, and the algorithm proved to have a better performance in terms of congestion avoidance, delay reduction, and improved QKD efficiency. This scheme provides a novel and efficient way to solve the problems in existing QKD systems. It effectively improves the transmission efficiency and strengthens the system’s security by dynamically obtaining the critical volume, accurately evaluating the link state, and selecting the optimal critical path.

Quantum Key Secure Transmission Method for Low Earth Orbit Satellite-to-Ground Communications

Zhiyuan Ye, Yucheng Wang, Yuxiang Lv +1 more

With the rapid advancement of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations, ensuring the security of satellite-to-ground communication has become a critical concern. Traditional cryptographic techniques, while effective against classical attacks, face increasing threats from quantum computing. This paper proposes a quantum key secure transmission method tailored for LEO satellite-ground communication scenarios. The method integrates quantum key distribution (QKD) with dynamic channel estimation and orbital mobility prediction to support secure and low-latency key handshakes between satellites and ground stations. A hybrid encryption strategy is introduced, where QKD-generated keys are used to refresh symmetric session keys in real time, significantly enhancing resistance to eavesdropping and man-in-the-middle attacks. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method ensures stable key distribution under Doppler-shifted and intermittent link conditions, achieving improved secrecy capacity and resilience against quantum-level adversaries. This work provides a viable and scalable quantum-safe communication solution for future secure satellite networks.

Fast and Secure Routing Algorithms for Quantum Key Distribution Networks

Vishnu B, Abhishek Sinha

This paper considers the problem of secure packet routing at the maximum achievable rate in a Quantum key distribution (QKD) network. Assume that a QKD protocol generates symmetric private keys for secure communication over each link in a multi-hop network. The quantum key generation process, which is affected by noise, is assumed to be modeled by a stochastic counting process. Packets are first encrypted with the available quantum keys for each hop and then transmitted on a point-to-point basis over the communication links. A fundamental problem that arises in this setting is to design a secure and capacity-achieving routing policy that accounts for the time-varying availability of the quantum keys for encryption and finite link capacities for transmission. In this paper, by combining the QKD protocol with the Universal Max Weight (UMW) routing policy [1] – [3], we design a new secure throughput-optimal routing policy, called Tandem Queue Decomposition (TQD). TQD solves the problem of secure routing efficiently for a wide class of traffic, including unicast, broadcast, and multicast. One of our main contributions in this paper is to show that the problem can be reduced to the usual generalized network flow problem on a transformed network without the key availability constraints. Simulation results show that the proposed policy incurs a substantially smaller delay as compared to the state-of-the-art routing and key management policies. The proof of throughput-optimality of the proposed policy makes use of the Lyapunov stability theory along with a careful treatment of the key-storage dynamics.
