Abstract

We consider a system consisting of a Λ-type atom and a V-type atom which are individually trapped in two spatially separated cavities that are connected by an optical fiber. The evolutions of the excitions of atom 1,atom 2,cavity A,cavity B and fiber mode are given. We discuss the influence of cavity-fiber coupling coefficient on the excitions. The results obtained by the numerical method show that the excitions of cavity A and cavity B decrease with increase of the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient. On the other hand, the excition of fiber mode shows a nonlinear variation with increase of the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient.

We consider a system consisting of a -type atom and a V-type atom, which are individually trapped in two spatially separated cavities that are connected by an optical fiber. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given. We investigate the temporal evolution in the entanglement between atoms and that between cavities. We discuss the influence of cavity-fiber coupling coefficient on entanglement. The results obtained by the numerical method show that the entanglement between atoms and the entanglement between cavities have the same evolution regularities. On the other hand, the entanglement between atoms and that between cavities are strengthened with the increase of cavity-fiber coupling coefficient.

The Entanglement Properties in the System of Three Atoms Trapped in Two Distant Cavities Connected by An Optical Fiber

Three two-level atoms are trapped in two initially empty cavities that are connected by an optical fiber. We investigate the entanglement evolution between two atoms in the same cavity and the entanglement evolution between two cavities. We discuss the influences of the state-selective measurement on the entanglement and that of fiber-cavity coupling coefficient on the entanglement. The obtained results show that atom-atom entanglement property has a nonlinear relation with increasing of the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient, and cavity-cavity entanglement property is weakened with increasing of the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient. On the other hand, the results also show that the entanglement between two cavities and that between two atoms can be strengthened through the state-selective measurement on the atom.

We study the entanglement dynamics of the system composed of a Λ-type atom and a V-type atom resonantly interacting with two coupled cavities. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given. We investigate the evolutions of atom-atom entanglement, cavity-cavity entanglement, and atom-cavity entanglement by Negativity. The influences of cavity-cavity coupling coefficient on the entanglements are discussed. The results obtained by the numerical method show that the atom-atom entanglement is strengthened and the cavity-cavity entanglement is weakened with the increase of the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient.

The entanglement properties in the system of two double-level atoms trapped in two coupled cavities

LU Dao-min

We consider a system consisting of two two-level atoms interacting with two coupled cavities via a two-photon hopping. Two atoms are individually trapped in two coupled cavities. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given by solving the Schrodinger equation.Negativity is used to quantify the degree of entanglement.By means of the numerical calculations,we investigate the temporal evolution in the entanglement between atoms and that between atom and cavity.Through comparing the results of different cavity-cavity coupling coefficients, the influence of cavity-cavity coupling coefficient on the entanglement is discussed. The obtained results show that the atom-atom entanglement and atom-cavity entanglement both display the evolution which is from the irregular oscillations to quasi-periodic oscillation with the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient increasing. The average value of atom-atom entanglement and that of atom-cavity entanglement sometimes increase and sometimes decrease. It shows that there is non-linear relationship between atom-atom entanglement and cavity-cavity coupling coefficient,or between atom-cavity entanglement and cavity-cavity coupling coefficient. On the other hand, when the cavity-cavity coupling coefficient is small, the entanglement between atom and cavity exhibits the phenomenon of collapse and recovery.

Entangling two atoms in spatially separated cavities through both photon emission and absorption processes

Peng Peng, Fuli Li

We consider a system consisting of a $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$-type atom and a $V$-type atom, which are individually trapped in two spatially separated cavities that are connected by an optical fiber. We show that an extremely entangled state of the two atoms can be deterministically generated through both photon emission of the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$-type atom and photon absorption of the $V$-type atom in an ideal situation. The influence of various decoherence processes such as spontaneous emission and photon loss on the fidelity of the entangled state is also investigated. We find that the effect of photon leakage out of the fiber on the fidelity can be greatly diminished in some special cases. In regard to the effect of spontaneous emission and photon loss from the cavities, we find that the present scheme with high fidelity may be realized under current experiment conditions. We also show that either the $\ensuremath{\Lambda}$- or $V$-type level configuration can be realized on the same atom by initializing the atomic state, and we show the present scheme is scalable.

Entanglement Properties in the System of two Atoms Trapped in Coupled Cavities

卢道明 LU Dao-ming

The two-excitation system comprising two two-level atoms resonantly interacting with two coupled cavities is analyzed. The evolution of the state vector of the system is given when the total excitation number equals two.By means of the numerical calculations, the temporal evolution in the entanglement is investigated between the atoms, between the cavities,as well as between the atom and the local cavity mode. The influences of coupling constant between cavities on the entanglements are discussed. The results obtained show that atom and atom are separable, and the cavity-cavity entanglement and the atom-cavity entanglement are weakened with increasing of the coupling constant between cavities.
