Abstract

Considering two two(level atoms(A and B)initially in the EPR state,we put atom B into one cavity prepared in coherent state. When atom B flies out of the cavity,we make an arbitrary state measurement on it.The dipole squeezing of atom A can be controlled via choosing different intense cavity field.

Considering two two-level atoms (A and B) initially in the EPR state, atom B is put into one cavity prepared in coherent superposition state. When atom B flies out of the cavity,an arbitrary state measurement is carried out on it.The law about the effects on the dipole of atoms A exerted by light field intensity and superposition coefficients is obtained, and the result also shows that the dipole squeezing of atoms A can be achieved under certain conditions.

Controlling dipole squeezing of two atoms inside a cavity via manipulating an atom outside the cavity

Tang-Kun Liu, Ji‐Suo Wang, Jian Feng +1 more

Considering that three two-level atoms are initially in the GHZ single state and two of the atoms are simultaneously put into a cavity initially in the coherent state, we investigate the dipole squeezing properties of the two atoms inside the cavity under the condition of resonant interaction. It is shown that dipole squeezing properties of the two atoms inside the cavity are strongly affected by rotation manipulating of the atom outside the cavity.

Spin squeezing via atom-cavity field coupling

Claudiu Genes, P. R. Berman, Alberto G. Rojo

Spin squeezing via atom-field interactions is considered within the context of the Tavis-Cummings model. An ensemble of N two-level atoms interacts with a quantized cavity field. For all the atoms initially in their ground states, it is shown that spin squeezing of both the atoms and the field can be achieved provided the initial state of the cavity field has coherence between number states differing by 2. Most of the discussion is restricted to the case of a cavity field initially in a coherent state, but initial squeezed states for the field are also discussed. Optimal conditions for obtaining squeezing are obtained. An analytic solution is found that is valid in the limit that the number of atoms is much greater than unity and is also much larger than the average number of photons, ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}^{2},$ initially in the coherent state of the cavity field. In this limit, the degree of spin squeezing increases with increasing $\ensuremath{\alpha},$ even though the field more closely resembles a classical field for which no spin squeezing could be achieved.

Single-Atom Conditional Manipulation of Confined Quantized Electromagnetic Field

Anna Napoli

It has been recently shown [1] that, under suitable conditions, the interaction between a three-level atom and the quantized field of a bimodal microcavity may be effectively reduced to the two-photon coupling between a single two-level atom and the electromagnetic field in the resonator. The corresponding Hamiltonian model is characterized by intensity-dependent Stark shifts due to the presence of an intermediate off-resonance atomic level. Assume the cavity field prepared at in an arbitrary state and let an initially excited atom cross the cavity with an appropriately selected velocity. It is possible to show that, exploiting a single conditional measurement of the atomic state immediately after the atom leaves the resonator, the bimodal field is projected into a new state characterized by the same photon number distribution present at More in detail, the experimental scheme we propose makes it possible manipulating only the phases of the initial probability amplitudes of finding a well defined population in the cavity. We prove that the state into which the cavity collapses after a successful atomic measurement is unitarily related to the initial field state and the explicit form of the accomplishing operator is constructed. We wish to remark that, beside its inherent theoretical interest, this simple experimental scheme might also be of relevance in the socalled field of quantum communication [2], where implementing unitary modifications of a quantum state signal represents an issue of topical and central importance. More in general, our proposal provides a systematic procedure for controlling selected properties of a quantum state. We in fact demonstrate that our experimental scheme may be reliably exploited to generate orthogonal states to a prefixed one or to control the squeezing direction.

Generation for entangled squeezed coherent states of two cavity modes A scheme is based upon three artificial three-level atoms in a doubly resonant cavity

Li-Xin Xia, Guo-Xin Xiong

we propose a scheme to produce pure and entangled squeezed coherent state. Under the strong classical driven condition, threeΣ -type artificial three-level atoms interact with a doubly resonant cavity by initially preparing the artificial atoms in certain states, successionally. It is shown that an entangled squeezed coherent state can be generated from the product state of the two cavity-mode vacuum fields.
