Abstract

Using the phase state and phase operator introduced by Pegg and Barnett, the phase probability distributions of the photon-subtracted squeezed vacuum states were investigated.Numerical results indicate that the phase probability distribution of the photon-subtracted squeezed vacuum states are mainly regulated by the phase parameter and the squeezing parameter. The phase parameter causes the probability distributions exhibiting peak and vale shape, and peak value is determined by the squeezing parameter.Furthermore, the phase probability distributions are influenced by the photon-subtracted number in a certain extent.

Phase Probability Distributions of the Excited Squeezed Vacuum States

Wan Peng

Making use of the phase state theory introduced by Pegg and Barnett, the phase probability distributions of the excited squeezed vacuum states were investigated. And then the influence of the phase parameter, the squeezing parameter and the excited photon number on the phase probability distributions were studied with the aid of numerical method. It is shown that these probability distributions of the states are regulated by the phase parameter and the squeezing parameter mainly. The variety of phase parameter causes the probability distributions exhibiting peak and vale shape. The peak and vale values are determined by the squeezing parameter.Furthermore, the phase probability distributions are influenced by the excited photon number in a certain extent.

Properties of two-mode squeezed number states

Alexei Vladimirovich Chizhov, B. K. Murzakhmetov

Photon statistics and phase properties of two-mode squeezed number states are studied. It is shown that photon number distribution and Pegg-Barnett phase distribution for such states have similar (N + 1)-peak structure for nonzero value of the difference in the number of photons between modes. Exact analytical formulas for phase distributions based on different phase approaches are derived. The Pegg-Barnett phase distribution and the phase quasiprobability distribution associated with the Wigner function are close to each other, while the phase quasiprobability distribution associated with the Q function carries less phase information.

Quantum phase distribution and the number phase Wigner function of the generalized squeezed vacuum states associated with solvable quantum systems

Gholamreza Honarasa, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly, Mohsen Hatami

The quantum phase properties of the generalized squeezed vacuum states associated with solvable quantum systems are studied by using the Pegg—Barnett formalism. Then, two nonclassical features, i.e., squeezing in the number and phase operators, as well as the number—phase Wigner function of the generalized squeezed states are investigated. Due to some actual physical situations, the present approach is applied to two classes of generalized squeezed states: solvable quantum systems with discrete spectra and nonlinear squeezed states with particular nonlinear functions. Finally, the time evolution of the nonclassical properties of the considered systems has been numerically investigated.

Photon number distribution of detuned squeezed states

Mordechay Y. Zahler, Y. Ben Aryeh

A quantum-mechanical treatment is developed, by using the Lie Group methods, for the properties of the detuned degenerate, vacuum, and excited squeezed-states photon number distribution. For a vacuum squeezed state, the detuning decreases the average photon number without changing the semichaotic distribution. In addition, an oscillatory behavior of the photon pair probability as a function of the detuning parameter appears below threshold. For an excited squeezed state, the photon number distribution, including its oscillatory characteristic at resonance, is strongly affected by the detuning. In addition to a continuous relaxation of the oscillations toward a Poissonian-like shape, there is also a very sensitive movement of the oscillations' peaks, depending on a detuning produced phase.

Phase Probability Distributions of Superposition Pair Coherent State

Sun K. Hong

The completeness relation for the superposition pair coherent state is discussed.Based the phase operator and phase state introduced by Pegg and Barnett we study the phase probability distributions of the superposition pair coherent state and the numerical calculation. It is shown that the probability distributions of the superposition pair coherent state are regulated by the parameters of phase and superposition.

Phase properties in the model of two coupling two-level atoms interacting with squeezed coherent light-field

Tao Xiang-yang

The phase properties in the system of the coupling two-level atoms interacting with squeezed coherent-state light-field is studied from the point of the Pegg-Barnett phase theory. The phase probability distribution and the phase fluctuation are investigated. Meanwhile, the influence of the field amplitude, the compressed parameter, and the coupling coefficient between atoms on the phase properties is also discussed. The results show that the phase probability distribution presents three-peak Gaussian configuration. The maximum of the phase probability distribution lies at the point of the zero phase arid the phase fluctuation is small, while at other place the value of the phase probability distribution is relatively small and vibrates easily. At the same time, because of the influence of light-field squeezing effect, the phase probability distribution is different from that of coherent-state field.
