Quantum phase distribution and the number phase Wigner function of the generalized squeezed vacuum states associated with solvable quantum systems

Abstract

The quantum phase properties of the generalized squeezed vacuum states associated with solvable quantum systems are studied by using the Pegg—Barnett formalism. Then, two nonclassical features, i.e., squeezing in the number and phase operators, as well as the number—phase Wigner function of the generalized squeezed states are investigated. Due to some actual physical situations, the present approach is applied to two classes of generalized squeezed states: solvable quantum systems with discrete spectra and nonlinear squeezed states with particular nonlinear functions. Finally, the time evolution of the nonclassical properties of the considered systems has been numerically investigated.

Nonclassical properties of a nonlinear generalized geometric state

M. Sebawe Abdalla, A.‐S. F. Obada, Mahmoud Darwish

In this paper, we introduce and investigate some properties of a nonlinear generalized geometric state (the state that interpolates between the number state and a nonlinear pure thermal state). We mainly concentrate on the statistical properties. We have discussed the normal squeezing as well as the amplitude squared squeezing, further the Mandel's q-parameter is also considered. The investigation is also extended to include the quasi-probability distribution functions (W-Wigner and Q-functions). The quadrature distribution and the phase properties in the Pegg–Barnett formalism besides the phase variances are considered.

Phase Properties of Photon-Added Coherent States for Nonharmonic Oscillators in a Nonlinear Kerr Medium

Farshid Jahanbakhsh, Gholamreza Honarasa

Abstract The potential of nonharmonic systems has several applications in the field of quantum physics. The photon-added coherent states for annharmonic oscillators in a nonlinear Kerr medium can be used to describe some quantum systems. In this paper, the phase properties of these states including number-phase Wigner distribution function, Pegg-Barnett phase distribution function, number-phase squeezing and number-phase entropic uncertainty relations are investigated. It is found that these states can be considered as the nonclassical states.

Nonclassical Properties of a Class of Nonlinear Pair Coherent State

H. H. Salah

In the present work a class of nonlinear pair coherent state introduced depending on the form of the nonlinearity function with examining some of its nonclassical properties. In particular, it is shown that such state exhibits nonclassical properties such as squeezing and sub-Poissonian behaviour. Also, the quasiprobability distribution functions (Wigner-function, Q-function) are discussed. Finally, the phase properties in Pegg-Barnett formalism is considered.

Nonlinear semi-coherent states, their nonclassical features and phase properties

E Piroozi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Semi-coherent states (semi-CSs) were previously introduced and their nonclassical properties studied. In this paper, we first propose a general formalism for the construction of ‘nonlinear semi-CSs’ as an extension of semi-CSs and then their explicit form in the number state basis is generally deduced. Next, as some physical appearances of the formalism, after choosing two well-known nonlinearity functions, nonclassical features and quantum statistical properties of the associated states are studied by evaluating quadrature squeezing, higher order squeezing and the Mandel parameter, as well as their phase properties and number and phase squeezing of the introduced states. Finally, the results are compared with the properties of semi-CSs.

Generalized photon-subtracted squeezed vacuum states

Sanjib Dey, Sarika S Nair

Abstract We construct a generalized version of the photon-subtracted squeezed vacuum states (PSSVS), which can be utilized to construct the same for nonlinear, deformed and any usual quantum mechanical models beyond the harmonic oscillator. We apply our general framework to trigonometric Pöschl–Teller potential and show that our method works accurately and produces a proper nonclassical state. We analyze the nonclassicality of the state using three different approaches, namely, quadrature squeezing, photon number squeezing and Wigner function and indicate how the standard definitions of those three techniques can be generalized and utilized to examine the nonclassicality of any generalized quantum optical states including the PSSVS. We observe that the generalized PSSVS are always more nonclassical than those arising from the harmonic oscillator. Moreover, within some quantification schemes, we find that the nonclassicality of the PSSVS increases almost proportionally with the number of photons subtracted from the generalized squeezed vacuum state. Thus, generalized PSSVS may provide an additional freedom with which one can regulate the nonclassicality and obtain an appropriate nonclassical state as per requirement.

Nonclassicality and Phase Estimation of Hybrid Squeezed States

Mohammad Bohloul, Jia-Xin Peng, Mohamed Amazioug +2 more

Abstract We present a theoretical study on the generation and nonclassical properties of hybrid squeezed states (HSS), a class of engineered quantum states with enhanced quantum features. Using a modified beam splitter-Kerr medium scheme, we construct superpositions of squeezed vacuum and two-photon-added squeezed states, providing a flexible framework to generate and control hybrid quantum states. Nonclassicality is analysed via Mandel's $Q$ parameter, photon number distributions, probability distribution functions, and Wigner functions, revealing sub-Poissonian statistics, oscillatory photon distributions, and significant Wigner negativity. Phase-sensitivity analysis within a Mach-Zehnder interferometric framework demonstrates that HSS outperform conventional squeezed and photon-added squeezed states, achieving measurement precisions that exceed the standard quantum limit and approach the Heisenberg limit under optimal parameters. These results establish hybrid squeezed states as a powerful resource for quantum metrology, communication, and optical interferometry.
