Abstract

In this paper, the quantum fluctuation of the real component and complex component of the complex amplitude-squared of light field in mixed superposition states is calculated in detailed.Due to the result, we have obtained two kinds of mixed superposition states existing in amplitude-squared squeezing. They are mixed superposition states which involving two Fock states, the difference of photon number of this two Fock states is 2 or 4.Thus squeezing range of amplitude-squared is calculated.

Amplitude-squared squeezing of superposition of coherent states

Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmad, Ren Min, Ma Ai-Qun +1 more

This paper discusses the amplitude-squared squeezing for the superposition of two coherent states with their phase differences being separately π/2, 3π/2, and π, as well as for the superposition state of two pseudoclassical states. According to the analysis, it is found that the superposition state of two coherent states with their phase differences π/2 and 3π/2, and the superposition state of two pseudoclassical states both do exhibit the amplitude-squared squeezing. Also, some specific states are found to exhibit even stronger squeezing effects when relative phase of the superposition is equal to the average photon number. Amplitude-squared squeezing is dependent on the difference in phase between two coherent states.

Quantum Properties of the Superposition of Excited Coherent States

LU Dao-ming

The superposition of two excited coherent states with identical intensity and different phases are constructed. Its antibunching effect and amplitude-squared squeezing are studied numerically. The result shows that as the light intensity and the excited photon number increase, the antibunching effect decreases and the amplitude-squared squeezing increases. The amplitude-squared squeezing is influenced by the phase difference.

Study on the Properties of Unequal-Power N_j-th Power amplitude-Squeezing of Multimode Superposition State Light Field with the Superposition of Two Symmetrical Quantum States

Xiaowei Han

The properties of generalized nonlinear unequal-power Nj-th power amplitude-squeezing of multimode superposition state light field |ψ(2)q with the superposition of two symmetrical quantum states is studied in detail. It is found that under some conditions the state |ψ(2)q can present part odd number order Nj-th power amplitude-squeezing that changes periodically. This result is entirely different from the result reported in current references.

Amplitude-squared squeezed states

Mark S. Hillery

The real and imaginary parts of the square of the field amplitude obey an uncertainty relation. If the uncertainty in either of these variables is less than it would be in a minimum uncertainty state with equal uncertainties in both variables, the state is amplitude-squared squeezed. This is a nonclassical effect which can be produced by second harmonic generation, two-photon absorption, and degenerate parametric amplification, as well as by higher-order processes. Amplitude-squared squeezing can be converted into normal squeezing by interactions in which the square of the amplitude of one field is coupled to the amplitude of another. Second harmonic generation and some forms of four-wave mixing provide examples of such processes.

SECOND-ORDER AND AMPLITUDE-SQUARED SQUEEZING OF THE TWO TWO-LEVEL ATOMS WITH SUPERPOSITION STATE PREPARATION

Mubeen A. Mir

An analysis of the second-order and amplitude-squared (AS) squeezing is presented for the two atoms prepared in a two-atom squeezed state using coherent and squeezed field inputs. The system produce strong sqeezing and superposition angle (θ) is more effective for small values of average photon number [Formula: see text] as compared to that of large one. The degree of squeezing of both types increases as θ increases for coherent field input with small [Formula: see text]. Some values of θ for the initial field in a squeezed-vacuum state with any value of input squeezing can make one of the quadrature of the both types of squeezing permanently squeezed for T≥0. For the initial field in a more general squeezed state, the second-order and AS squeezing behave randomly for different values of θ.

Higher-Order Squeezing Properties of One class of Eigenstates

Shutian Liu

The characteristics of the k th-power squeezing of a class of superposition states which involving two orthonormalized eigenstates of photon annihilation operator aN are studied. The result show that the characteristics of the k th-power squeezing of a class of superposition states which involving two orthonormalized eigenstates of photon annihilation operator aN are different from the characteristics of the k th-power squeezing of the orthonormalized eigenstates of photon annihilation operator aN clearly. No matter what N is an odd number or even number, the superposition states own amplitude k(k=Nt or Nt/2) th-power squeezing, but for the orthonormalized eigenstates of aN,only when N is even number there exist amplitude k(k=(2P+1)N/2) th-power squeezing.Owing to that, when phase difference δ=2mπ/t(m is integer),the superposition states don′t own amplitude k th-power squeezing;when δ=π,only N and t are odd number simultaneously, the superposition states may own amplitude k th-power squeezing;when δ=π/2,t≠4m,the superposition states own amplitude k th-power squeezing;thus the phase difference of parameter has key effect on amplitude k th-power squeezing.
