Abstract

The system of a single-mode field interacting with a -type three-level atom in a harmonic trap is investigated. The linear entropy of the field, the atomic internal states and the atomic mass center motion are explored. It is shown that the atomic mass center motion not only can affect the linear entropy of the field and the atomic internal states, but also effectively changes their relationship.

The effect of mass center motion on a two-level atom emission spectrum

The emission spectrum of a two-level atom in a harmonic trap is studied. It is shown that atomic motion do not affect the atomic spectrum phase sensitivity when there is no correlation between atomic mass center motion and the field. With the increase of the average energy of atomic center motion, the peaks move towards each other, their heights change with the state of the field and atomic motion. When there is correlation between atomic mass center motion and the field, the atomic spectrum becomes insensitive to the relative phase between the field and the atomic dipole. Under certain conditions, there are fewer peaks, and they become higher and narrower.

Emission spectrum of a harmonically trapped Λ-type three-level atom

郭红, 汤佩

We theoretically investigate the emission spectrum for a Λ-type three-level atom trapped in the node of a standing wave. We show that the atomic center-of-mass motion not only directly affects the peak number, peak position, and peak height in the atomic emission spectrum, but also influences the effects of the cavity field and the atomic initial state on atomic emission spectrum.

Influence of the motion of atomic mass centre and field mode structure on the field entropy squeezing

Mao-Fa Fang

The influence of the motion of atomic mass centre, field mode structure and initial mean photon number on the field entropy squeezing is investigated by means of the theory of quantum information entropy. It is shown that the motion of atomic mass center leads to the periodic evolution of the field entropy squeezing and this period depends on the field mode structure parameter; an increase in field-mode structure parameter results in not only shortening of the evolution period of the field entropy squeezing but also prolonging of the squeezing time; the field may exhibit long time entropy squeezing effect for some choieed system parameters.

Algebraic Structure and Analytic Solutions of a Moving V-Type Three-Level Atom Interacting with a Two-Mode Cavity Field

Cuiling Zhang, Rui Dang, Jiali Zhang

In the framework of algebraic dynamics, the dynamics of a V-type three-level atom interacting with a two-mode of the quantized cavity field is considered with atomic center-of-mass motion included. The general analytical expressions for the linearized Hamiltonian and the reduced density operator are derived, which can be used to calculate the expectation values of any system operators. As an illustration, analytical expressions for the optical forces are obtained.

The Entropy Squeezing Properties in a System of Single-mode FieldInteracting with Ξ Type Three-level Atom

HE Jin-yu

The field entropy squeezing properties in a system of vacuum of field interacting with Ξ type three-level atom are studied. The influence of the initial state of atoms and atom-field coupling constants on the field entropy squeezing is also discussed.
