Abstract

We consider a system of two arbitrary quantum particles on three-dimensional lattice with certain dispersion functions (describing the transfer of the particle from one node to another) interacting by the attractive potential only on the nearest neighboring nodes. We find a class of potentials such that under perturbation of the two-particle operator h ( k ), corresponding to a two-particle system, with a potential from this class, the discrete spectrum of h ( k ) is preserved.

The point spectrum of the three-particle Schrödinger operator for a system comprising two identical bosons and one fermion on Z

Zahriddin Ishkobilovich Muminov, Актамова Васила Уктамовна

We consider the Hamiltonian of a system of three quantum particles (two identical bosons and a fermion) on the one-dimensional lattice interacting by means of zero-range attractive or repulsive potentials. We investigate the point spectrum of the three-particle discrete Schrödinger operator H(K), K ∈ T which possesses infinitely many eigenvalues depending on repulsive or attractive interactions, under the assumption that the bosons in the system have infinite mass

Abstract We consider the hamiltonian H μ , μ ∈ R of a system of three-particles (two identical fermions and one different particle) moving on the lattice Z d , d = 1 , 2 interacting through repulsive ( μ > 0 ) or attractive ( μ < 0 ) zero-range pairwise potential μ v . We prove for any μ ≠ 0 the existence of bound states of the discrete three-particle Schrödinger operator H μ ( K ) , K ∈ T d being the three-particle quasi-momentum, associated to the hamiltonian H μ .

The Hamiltonian of a system of four arbitrary quantum particles with three-particle short-range interaction potentials on a three-dimensional lattice is examined. The location of the essential spectrum of this Hamiltonian is described by Faddeev’s equations.

Existence of three-particle bound states in optical lattice

Saidakhmat Norzhigitovich Lakaev, Sh. I. Khamidov, Собир Сахибжанович Улашов

We consider a system of three particles consisting of two identical fermions and one other particle on a one-dimensional lattice. The fermions interact via a nearest-neighbor potential of strength $$\mu_1\in\mathbb{R}$$ , while the interaction between a fermion and one other particle is via an on-site potential with strength $${\mu_2\in\mathbb{R}}$$ . We establish existence of bound states of the associated three-body lattice Schrödinger operator for all values of the total quasimomentum $$K\in\mathbb{T}^1$$ . Furthermore, we show that both the bound state $$f_{\mu_1\mu_2}(K;\,{\cdot}\,{,}\,{\cdot}\,)$$ and its corresponding eigenvalue $$E_{\mu_1\mu_2}(K)$$ depend holomorphically on the quasimomentum.

Two-particle scattering in a periodic medium

Yu. P. Chuburin

We consider a two-particle Schrödinger difference operator with a periodic potential perturbed by an exponentially decaying interaction potential for particles on a one-dimensional lattice. We obtain rigorous results for the two-particle scattering problem in the case of a small interaction and low velocities. Here, as in other quasi-one-dimensional models, small interactions can significantly affect the scattering pattern. In particular, we find the probability that the velocities of two particles in a periodic medium (e.g., they can be ultracold atoms in a one-dimensional optical lattice) change their signs during a collision. This probability increases as the relative velocity decreases and also as the absolute value of the matrix element between single-particle unperturbed Bloch states increases.

Quantization of the potential amplitude in the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation

B. Ya. Balagurov

A consistent scheme is proposed for quantizing the potential amplitude in the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation in the case of negative energies (lying in the discrete-spectrum domain). The properties of the eigenfunctions ϕ n ( x ) and eigenvalues α n corresponding to zero, small, and large absolute values of energy E < 0 are analyzed. Expansion in the set ϕ n ( x ) is used to develop a regular perturbation theory (for E < 0), and a general expression is found for the Green function associated with the time-independent Schrödinger equation. A similar method is used to solve several physical problems: the polarizability of a weakly bound quantum-mechanical system, the two-center problem, and the tunneling of slow particles through a potential barrier (or over a potential well). In particular, it is shown that the transmission coefficient for slow particles is anomalously large (on the order of unity) in the case of an attractive potential is characterized by certain critical values of well depth. The proposed approach is advantageous in that it does not require the use of continuum states.
