Replaced Hypothesis of Light Quanta

Prof. Dr. Raja Susai, Dr. Saravanakumar Thayuman, Levin Tony Raja

Einstein, in his later years, expressed deep dissatisfaction with the concept of ‘light quanta’, questioning whether the wave-particle duality, could be more fundamentally understood. In response to this fundamental legacy, we propose “Einsmax Theory of Light Quanta and Massless Particles”, which treats light as comprising two separable, yet interdependent components each component fulfilling separate roles in physical interaction: a light wave is responsible for carrying energy, while massless glittering particles (corpuscles) responsible only for intensity of brightness. ‘Einsmax theory’ retains all Maxwellian and quantum mechanical formalism. This theory adds an additional highlight to the amplitude of the light wave of the photon to be vested with the quantum levels as 1,2,3,4… n, acting as energy storage tanks for emission and absorption of light energy. The implications span quantum optics, photodetection and foundational interpretations of light matter interaction. We present, thought experiments and observational set ups, inspired by macroscopic imaging phenomena, such as long-distance photography in darkness (as well as ‘Camera Obscura’) to illustrate this conceptual separation. The clarity of images formed in dark regions, despite an apparent absence of visual corpuscular brightness, suggests the independent role of the wave component in transmission of the image to the camera, while the object being glittered by the corpuscular component, affirming the Truth: “The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness has never put it out”.

Oscillator Model Analysis for Slow Light in Bright-Dark-Dark Waveguide Systems

Zhihui He, Hongjian Li, Shiping Zhan +3 more

The tunable wideband slow-light based on plasmonic analogue of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in bright-dark-dark mode waveguide systems is investigated in this letter. A three-oscillator model is established to characterize optical responses and slow-light effects in the waveguide systems. The main dependent factors of slow-light effects based on plasmonic analogue of EIT, namely, the cavity-cavity separation and media environment of resonators, are numerically and theoretically discussed in this letter. We find that both the group index and the bandwidth of the slow light in the bright-dark-dark waveguide structures show better performance than those in the normal bright-dark ones. These results suggest that the contradiction between the large group index and the wideband slow light in the bright-dark mode waveguide system can be weakened. At the same time, tunable wideband slow-light effects are also achieved. Our researches may have an application in optical slow-light devices.

Coherent manipulation of bright and dark solitons of reflection and transmission pulses through sodium atomic medium

Thabet Abdeljawad, Asma Al-Jaser, Bahaaeldin Abdalla +3 more

Abstract The coherent manipulation and control of bright and dark solitons through sodium atomic medium have been investigated in this manuscript. Dark soliton is reported for reflection and bright soliton is reported for transmission pulses with variation in position and driving field parameters through sodium atomic medium. Further the transmission pulse is periodic dark and bright solitonic behaviors and reflection pulse is periodic bright solitonic behavior with variation in the incident angle and Rabi frequency of the control field. Elliptical dark and bright solitons as well as breather types solitons are also investigated for reflection and transmission pulses. The dark soliton in reflection is due to slow light propagation and bright soliton is obtained due to fast light propagation of transmission through the medium. The modified results of the dark and bright solitons are useful for telecommunication and ultra-fast signal routing system.
