Abstract

In this paper, we investigate security issues due to crosstalk in a m-sequence codes family and prove that an inadequate choice of these codes, in fact, compromises the overall performance of the SPECTS-OCDMA system.

Experimental investigation of security issues in OCDMA: a code-switching scheme

Daniel E. Leaird, Z. Jiang, Andrew M. Weiner

Spectrally phase coded OCDMA with a modulation format based on switching between two codes is demonstrated. The code switching data modulation format enhances security compared to on-off keying by eliminating a vulnerability to eavesdropping based on a simple energy detector.

Non-uniform spectral encoding for enhanced multi-user performance in optical CDMA networks

We propose a novel non-uniform spectral coding scheme in an optical-CDMA system that utilizes spectral phase encoded time-spreading (SPECTS). The new method achieves lower multi-user-interference and twice network capacity for Gaussian spectral shape optical pulses
