Abstract

Taking into account the effects of Stark shift and Kerr medium, the dynamics of a two-level atom interacting with a quantized cavity field and the evolution of the cavity field entropy are investigated in this paper, the comparison between both systems of Stark shift and Kerr medium is given. The results show that, the effects of Stark shift and Kerr medium change the quasiperiod of the atomic inversion and the field entropy evolution.

Entanglement Dynamics of Three and Four Level Atomic System under Stark Effect and Kerr-Like Medium

Syed Jamal Anwar, Muhammad Asif Ramzan, M. Usman +1 more

We investigated numerically the dynamics of quantum Fisher information (QFI) and entanglement for three- and four-level atomic systems interacting with a coherent field under the effect of Stark shift and Kerr medium. It was observed that the Stark shift and Kerr-like medium play a prominent role during the time evolution of the quantum systems. The non-linear Kerr medium has a stronger effect on the dynamics of QFI as compared to the quantum entanglement (QE). QFI is heavily suppressed by increasing the value of Kerr parameter. This behavior was found comparable in the cases of three- and four-level atomic systems coupled with a non-linear Kerr medium. However, QFI and quantum entanglement (QE) maintain their periodic nature under atomic motion. On the other hand, the local maximum value of QFI and von Neumann entropy (VNE) decrease gradually under the Stark effect. Moreover, no prominent difference in the behavior of QFI and QE was observed for three- and four-level atoms while increasing the value of Stark parameter. However, three- and four-level atomic systems were found equally prone to the non-linear Kerr medium and Stark effect. Furthermore, three- and four-level atomic systems were found fully prone to the Kerr-like medium and Stark effect.

Entropy squeezing and atomic inversion in the k -photon Jaynes—Cummings model in the presence of the Stark shift and a Kerr medium: A full nonlinear approach

H R Baghshahi, M K Tavassoly, A Behjat

The interaction between a two-level atom and a single-mode field in the k -photon Jaynes—Cummings model (JCM) in the presence of the Stark shift and a Kerr medium is studied. All terms in the Hamiltonian, such as the single-mode field, its interaction with the atom, the contribution of the Stark shift and the Kerr medium effects are considered to be f -deformed. In particular, the effect of the initial state of the radiation field on the dynamical evolution of some physical properties such as atomic inversion and entropy squeezing are investigated by considering different initial field states (coherent, squeezed and thermal states).

Dynamics of atom-field interaction inside a nonlinear Kerr-like medium filled optical cavity

Naveen Kumar, Arpita Chatterjee

In this paper, we investigate the dynamics of two two-level atoms interacting with a two-mode field inside an optical cavity, in presence of a nonlinear Kerr-like medium as well as the Stark shift. We derive the exact analytical solution of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation that provides a comprehensive framework for analyzing the system's quantum properties. To characterize the nonclassical features of the radiation field, we examine photon number distribution, second-order correlation function 𝑔2⁡(0), squeezing properties, and Mandel's 𝑄𝑀 parameter. These properties reveal significant insights into the quantum statistical behaviour of the field and its deviation from classicality under different interaction regimes. In addition, we quantify the atom-atom entanglement using linear entropy which captures the mixedness of the atomic subsystem and elucidates the interplay between atom-atom interactions. The results highlight the crucial role of nonlinear interactions and the Stark shift in shaping the quantum correlations and nonclassical phenomena of the system.

Dynamics of a nonlinear time-dependent two two-level atoms in a two-mode cavity

Sameh T. Korashy, Tarek M. El-Shahat, Nabil Habiballah +2 more

In this paper, we present some properties through two two-level atoms interacting with a two-mode quantized cavity field. We study this system in the presence of detuning parameter, Kerr nonlinearity, Stark shift, relative phase and intensity-dependent atoms-field coupling. Also, the coupling parameter is modulated to be time dependent. The exact solution of this model is given by using the Schrődinger equation when the atoms and the field are initially prepared in superposition states and coherent states, respectively. We employed the results to calculate some aspects such as linear entropy, total atomic inversion and cross-correlation function.

ENTANGLEMENT OF A TWO-LEVEL ATOM INTERACTING WITH A NEW STRUCTURE OF A GENERALIZED NONLINEAR STARK SHIFT VIA Ξ CONFIGURATION

Eied Mahmoud Khalil, M. M. A. Ahmed, A.‐S. F. Obada

The problem of a two-level atom interacting with single mode cavity field is considered, however, the optical cavity is filled with new structure of a generalized nonlinear Stark shift via Ξ configuration. One starts with a three-level trapped atom interacting with the quantized field of center of mass motion thus a Hamiltonian for one-phonon process with nonlinearities is derived. Through the elimination of the intermediate level by using the adiabatic elimination method, we generate a new structure of effective Hamiltonian for a two-level atom with a nonlinear Stark shift. The temporal evolution of the atomic inversion is studied, we introduce that in the presence of the Stark shift parameter the atom leaves in a maximal entangled sate. We use the von Neuman entropy to measure the degree of entanglement between the atom and the field. After adding the nonlinear Stark shift the system never reaches the pure state. Also we study the Q-function for obtaining more information in phase space for this system. These aspects are sensitive to changes in the Stark shift parameter. The results shows that the effect of the nonlinearity in the Stark shift changes the quasiperiod of the field entropy and hence the entanglement between the particle and the field.

Entanglement Degree of a Degenerate Two-Photon Process with Kerr-Like Medium

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty, Shigeru Furuichi, M. S. Ateto

In this study, we use the quantum entropy to measure the degree of entanglement in the time development of the two-level particle (atom or ion). The influence of atomic coherence on the evolution of the field quantum entropy and the entanglement of the atom-field in the two-photon process, taking into account the level shifts produced by the Stark effect with an additional Kerr-like medium for one mode, are examined. The exact results are employed to perform a careful investigation of the temporal evolution of the entropy. It is shown that the evolution of the field entropy is very sensitive to the relative phase of the particle and field. The effect of both the Stark shift and the presence of a Kerr-like medium on the entropy is analyzed. The results show that the effect of the Kerr-like medium and the Stark shift changes the quasiperiod of the field entropy evolution and the entanglement between the particle and the field. The general conclusions reached are illustrated by numerical results.
