Abstract

The effective Hamiltonian of the optmechanical systems is similar to one that describes the interaction between a classical driving field and a single trapped cold ion. In this paper, by using this idea, generation and transfer of the entanglement state is investigated. In optomechanical systems with one and two membranes inside the cavity and in the Lamb-Dick approximation, with selecting mode the state transfer and the generation of two mode squeezed state between two membranes is considered. Also, the measure of entanglement in interaction to the thermal phonons and damping rate of cavity is computed. In this paper we try to describe our experimental or theoretical results. This abstract should be about 100 words.

Generating of squeezed state and entanglement in cavity optomechanical system

Abstract We study theoretically a two-mode optomechanical system where two cavity modes are coupled to a single mechanical mode. It is shown that the whole system can yield good squeezing, which is comparable to that produced by dispersive coupling, the numerical results which we obtained showed periodic oscillations with a maximum peaks in one of the two quadrature component with a value less than 0.5. We also showed that entanglement can be achieved by calculating the variance in quadrature component of the field operators. Our results are useful in non- degenerate parametric oscillation.

Collective quantum effects in optomechanical systems

Max Ludwig

In the field of optomechanics, one typically studies the interaction of a single mechanical resonator and a single optical cavity mode. In this thesis, we investigate collective quantum effects in optomechanical systems with two or more optical and mechanical modes. First, we study the generation and destruction of entanglement between two mechanical resonators effected by optical cavity fields. We also describe how the optomechanical interaction can be employed to mediate strong coherent coupling and entanglement between a micromechanical membrane and a single atom. Secondly, we show that a configuration with two optical and a single mechanical mode can lead to enhanced nonlinear interactions, which can be exploited for quantum non-demolition measurements of the phonon and photon numbers. Finally, we explore the quantum many-body dynamics of optomechanical arrays. In particular, we research into the transition from a disordered state due to quantum noise to a state with phasecoherent mechanical oscillations. As an intermediate step towards this study, we also investigate the nonlinear classical dynamics of single- and multi-mode optomechanical setups and compare theoretical predictions to experimental data.

Entangling cavity optomechanical systems via a flying atom

Jun‐Hao Liu, Yu-Bao Zhang, Ya‐Fei Yu +1 more

We propose a novel scheme to generate the entanglement between two cavity optomechanical systems (COMSs) via a flying two-level atom. We derive the analytical expressions for the generated entangled states. We find that there exist two processes for generating entanglement: one is the entanglement transfer between the two phonon-modes, and the other is the entanglement swapping-like process among the two photon-modes and the two phonon-modes. We analyze these two kinds of phenomena, respectively, by adjusting the distance between the two COMSs. Then we discuss the verification of the generated entangled states of the two COMSs, and analyze the decoherence of the generated entangled states. Finally, we discuss the experimental feasibility of our proposal.

Continuous variable entanglement between propagating optical modes using optomechanics

Greeshma Gopinath, Yong Li, Sankar Davuluri

Abstract In this study, a method for entangling two spatially separated output laser fields from an optomechanical cavity is proposed. In the existing standard methods, entanglement is created by driving the two-mode squeezing part of the linearized optomechanical interaction;, however our method generates entanglement using the quantum back-action nullifying meter technique. As a result, entanglement can be generated outside the blue sideband frequency in both resolved and unresolved sideband regimes. We further show that the system is stable in the entire region where the Duan criterion for inseparability is fulfilled. The effect of thermal noise on the generated entanglement is examined. Finally, we compare this technique with standard methods for entanglement generation using optomechanics.

Quantum State Transfer in Trapped-Ion-Cavity Systems

Yu Jing Guo, Jie‐Qiao Liao, Kuang Le-Man

We study the information transfer and entanglement transfer in a system consisting of single trapped ions in cavities by the three-mode cross-Kerr-like interaction among the cavity field (photons), the centre-of-mass motion (phonons) and the internal state of the trapped ion in the Lamb–Dicke and large detuning regime.
