Abstract

Photon correlation functions are presented for two-mode cavity QED with orthogonal, linearly-polarized cavity modes. The full atomic level structure is treated for an F = 3 to F′ = 4 transition. An extremely long correlation time is identified and explained.

Photon Correlations for Two-Mode Cavity QED

Matthias Kronenwett, A. S. Parkins, H. J. Carmichael

Photon correlation functions in two-mode cavity QED with orthogonal linear polarizations are computed. The full atomic level structure is treated for an F=3 to F=4 transition. An extremely long correlation time is identified and explained. Article not available.

Cross-correlations and entanglement in a cavity QED system

We measure the cross-correlation between transmitted light out of a cavity QED system and spontaneous emission into the orthogonal polarization cavity mode. The result is an entanglement witness between the two modes of the cavity.

Correlation Functions and Multipartite Entanglement in Cavity QED

We consider the entanglement between a multi-level atom and two cavity modes for a cavity QED system, find that cross-correlations between the two modes are witness to atom-field entanglement. Concurrences and log negativities are also calculated.

The relation between Mandel Q and correlation time in the cavity-QED microlaser

Wonshik Choi, W. Seo, H. -G. Hong +6 more

We have measured second order correlation function in the cavity-QED microlaser. The linear relation between correlation time and Mandel Q was observed and this explains the origin of sub-Poissonan photon statistics.

Tripartite Entanglement in Two-Mode Cavity QED

Habtom Woldekristos, James Clemens, Perry R. Rice

We analyze a multi-level atom inside a driven optical cavity, with two orthogonally polarized modes. We discuss entanglement between the atom and two modes, in particular when the undriven mode is highly lossy.

Nonclassical Intensity Correlations in Cavity QED

S. L. Mielke, G. T. Foster, Luis A. Orozco

We report nonclassical correlations in the light transmitted by a collection of two-level atoms strongly coupled to a single mode of the electromagnetic field of a driven optical cavity. This cavity QED system can produce bunched light that violates the Schwarz inequality due to the state preparation of the system from the detection of a photon. The correlation function shows oscillations at a frequency that decreases with increasing intensity.
