THE INTRODUCTION OF STATISTICAL IDEAS IN THE QUANTUM MECHANICS OF PARTICLES WITH SPIN

J. C. Aron

Published Sep 1, 1960• 0 citations

Abstract

In previous studies a physical model for the spin wave was proposed, and the relations of the scattering theory with the quantum mechanics of a particle without spin were studied. In the present work, the statistical ideas are introduced into the mechanics of particles with spin and the measure in which they permit the definition of the physical model is examined. (tr-auth)

THE INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS. III. MATHEMATICAL FORMALISM

A.B. Datzeff

As a summary of the ideas developed in the previous works, the mathematical formalism of the prerelativistic quantum mechanics is given. It is shown that the relations of uncertainty as well as the attempts for their interpretation have always a statistical sense and from them one cannot draw a conclusion for the behavior of a separate particle. QUANTUM MECHANICAL PROBABILITIES AS SUMS OVER TRAJECTORIES

G. V. Ryazanov

A new formulation of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics, that is, a general definition of the probability for any event is proposed. The physical content of quantum mechanics reduces to a single principle which is similar to the Gibbs principle and permits one to solve problems without making recourse to wave functions and operators. THE INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS. RELATIVISTIC CASE OF A BODY WITH SPIN

A.B. Datzeff

The quantum problem of a body with spin, in the case of relativistic velocities, is treated with the aid of wellknown Dirac equations containing four wave functions. In the present work it is shown that the development of the ideas expressed previously (Compt. rend., 250: 67(1960) and Compt. rend., 254: 434(1962)) leads to the mathematical appliance of the Dirac theory, that is, the interpretation of quantum mechanics given can be transported to Dirac equations. A NONRELATIVISTIC WAVE EQUATION FOR PARTICLES OF SPIN 1

The hypothesis of a permanent structure with spherical symmetry of the particles and the consideration of Euler variables necessary to its description permits, for particles of spin 1, an equation to be written analogous to that found by Pauli for the electron. (tr-auth)
