Abstract

For a nonrelativistic particle with spin (e.g. an electron) in a magnetic field, the contlnuity equations, probability functions, and spin matrices are derived. (T.F.H.)

THE INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS. THE CASE OF THE RELATIVISTIC VELOCITY OF A PARTICLE WITHOUT SPIN

A.B. Datzeff

In previous works on probabilistic description of the quantum motion of a micro-particle mu the non-relativistic Schroedinger equation was derived. The idea developed is now used to show that one can find this probabilistic description for mu also for relativistic velocities. (T.R.H.)

THE INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS. RELATIVISTIC CASE OF A BODY WITH SPIN

A.B. Datzeff

The quantum problem of a body with spin, in the case of relativistic velocities, is treated with the aid of wellknown Dirac equations containing four wave functions. In the present work it is shown that the development of the ideas expressed previously (Compt. rend., 250: 67(1960) and Compt. rend., 254: 434(1962)) leads to the mathematical appliance of the Dirac theory, that is, the interpretation of quantum mechanics given can be transported to Dirac equations. INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS. THE CASE OF THE PRESENCE OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD

A new point of view on the interpretation of quantum mechanics previously presented is extended. The results are generalized for the case of the presence of an electromagnetic field. (T.R.H.)

STUDY OF THE PHYSICAL INTERPRETATION OF OPERATIORS IN THE RELATIVISTIC QUANTUM MECHANICS OF SPIN PARTICLES

M. Baktavatsalou

It is shown that operators that are observables can be obtained in relativistic qaantum mechanics; and the operators are determined for electrons, bosons of spin 0 or 1, and particles of arbitrary spin and nonzero mass. The definition and interpretation of the position operators, specifically, are treated. (D.C.W.)

NONRELATIVISTIC CLASSICAL MECHANICS FOR SPINNING PARTICLES

GIOVANNI SALESI

We study the classical dynamics of nonrelativistic particles endowed with spin. Nonvanishing Zitterbewegung terms appear in the equation of motion also in the small momentum limit. We derive a generalized work-energy theorem which suggests classical interpretations for tunnel effect and quantum potential.

THE INTERPRETATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS. III. MATHEMATICAL FORMALISM

A.B. Datzeff

As a summary of the ideas developed in the previous works, the mathematical formalism of the prerelativistic quantum mechanics is given. It is shown that the relations of uncertainty as well as the attempts for their interpretation have always a statistical sense and from them one cannot draw a conclusion for the behavior of a separate particle.
