Abstract

Although getting a CPA secure IBE scheme is quite easy, achieving a fully secure IBE scheme against CCA is still a challenging problem nowadays. We get such a IBE scheme. First we propose a fully secure HIBE against CPA based on Waters' IBE [23]. And then, as IBE is a special case of HIBE, we use Boneh's result and technique [6] to construct a fully secure IBE against CCA.

Chosen-Ciphertext Secure Fuzzy Identity-Based Key Encapsulation without ROM.

Liming Fang, Jiandong Wang, Yongjun Ren +2 more

Abstract. We use hybrid encryption with Fuzzy Identity-Based Encryption (Fuzzy-IBE) schemes, and present the first and efficient fuzzy identity-based key encapsulation mechanism (Fuzzy-IB-KEM) schemes which are chosen-ciphertext secure (CCA) without random oracle in the selective-ID model. To achieve these goals, we consider Fuzzy-IBE schemes as consisting of separate key and data encapsulation mechanisms (KEM-DEM), and then give the definition of Fuzzy-IB-KEM. Our main idea is to enhance Sahai and Waters ' "large universe " construction, chosen-plaintext secure (CPA) Fuzzy-IBE, by adding some redundant information to the ciphertext to make it CCA-secure.

Chosen‐Ciphertext Security from Identity‐Based Encryption

Dan Boneh, Ran Canetti, Shai Halevi +1 more

We propose simple and efficient CCA‐secure public‐key encryption schemes (i.e., schemes secure against adaptive chosen‐ciphertext attacks) based on any identity‐based encryption (IBE) scheme. Our constructions have ramifications of both theoretical and practical interest. First, our schemes give a new paradigm for achieving CCA‐security; this paradigm avoids “proofs of well‐formedness” that have been shown to underlie previous constructions. Second, instantiating our construction using known IBE constructions we obtain CCA‐secure encryption schemes whose performance is competitive with the most efficient CCA‐secure schemes to date. Our techniques extend naturally to give an efficient method for securing IBE schemes (even hierarchical ones) against adaptive chosen‐ciphertext attacks. Coupled with previous work, this gives the first efficient constructions of CCA‐secure IBE schemes.

CCA-Secure Deterministic Identity-Based Encryption Scheme

Bo Yang, Kaitai Liang, Liang Xue +3 more

Deterministic public-key encryption, encrypting a plaintext into a unique ciphertext without involving any randomness, was introduced by Bellare, Boldyreva, and O'Neill (CRYPTO 2007) as a realistic alternative to some inherent drawbacks in randomized public-key encryption. Bellare, Kiltz, Peikert and Waters (EUROCRYPT 2012) bring deterministic public-key encryption to the identity-based setting, and propose deterministic identity-based encryption scheme (DIBE). Although the construc- tions of chosen plaintext attack (CPA) secure DIBE scheme have been studied intensively, the construction of chosen ciphertext attack (CCA) secure DIBE scheme is still challenging problems. In this paper, we introduce the notion of identity-based all-but-one trapdoor functions (IB-ABO-TDF), which is an extension version of all-but-one lossy trapdoor function in the public-key setting. We give a instantiation of IB-ABO-TDF under decisional linear assumption. Based on an identity-based lossy trapdoor function and our IB-ABO-TDF, we present a generic construction of CCA-secure DIBE scheme.

CCA-Secure Leakage-Resilient Identity-Based Encryption without q-Type Assumptions

Toi Tomita, Wakaha Ogata, Kaoru Kurosawa +1 more

In this paper, we propose a new leakage-resilient identity-based encryption (IBE) scheme that is secure against chosen-ciphertext attacks (CCA) in the bounded memory leakage model. The security of our scheme is based on the external k-Linear assumption. It is the first CCA-secure leakage-resilient IBE scheme which does not depend on q-type assumptions. The leakage rate 1/10 is achieved under the XDLIN assumption (k=2).

Almost-tight Identity Based Encryption against Selective Opening Attack

Junqing Gong, Xiaolei Dong, Zhenfu Cao +1 more

The paper presented an identity based encryption (IBE) under selective opening attack (SOA) whose security is almost-tightly related to a set of computational assumptions. Our result is a combination of Bellare, Waters, and Yilek’s method [TCC, 2011] for constructing (not tightly) SOA secure IBE and Hofheinz, Koch, and Striecks ’ technique [PKC, 2015] on building almost-tightly secure IBE in the multi-ciphertext setting. In particular, we first tuned Bellare et al.’s generic construction for SOA secure IBE to show that a one-bit IBE achieving ciphertext indistinguishability under chosen plaintext attack in the multi-ciphertext setting (with one-sided publicly openability) tightly implies a multi-bit IBE secure under selective opening attack. Next, we almost-tightly reduced such a one-bit IBE to static assumptions in the composite-order bilinear groups

Identity-Based Threshold Decryption Schemes Secure against Chosen Ciphertext Attacks in the Standard Model

Mei Qi, He Da

We propose two efficient Identity-Based threshold decryption schemes. They are proved secure against chosen ciphertext attacks under the standard decisional bilinear Diffie-Hellman assumption. The first one is constructed from(one of) the Selective ID-Based Encryption(Selective-IBE) scheme proposed by Boneh and Boyen recently, yet the second one is transformed from the Full ID-Based Encryption(Full-IBE) scheme obtained by Waters. As the based IBE schemes, the attacker in the first proposal has to choose the challenge identity before the common parameter is generated.while the attacker in the second one could choose the identity adaptively. To the best of our knowledge, previous related schemes could only be proved secure in the random oracle model.
