Quantum cryptography - one step closer to reality

Abstract

\n\t\t\t\t\tMost of cryptographic techniques today provide secure enough communications in society. However, none of them can provide unconditional security (except One-Time pad, which is the only such mechanism). They all have weaknesses. That is why they should be consistently updated and renovated along with changes in technology. However, the quantum computers have potential to completely revolutionize cryptography. They would be so powerful that all complex computations and mathematical problems on which current cryptography rely, would become trivial. They would be able to solve them in a matter of seconds. At the same time quantum cryptography would offer perfectly secure communication. This paper is brief introduction to quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and to existing quantum technology. \n\t\t\t\t

Quantum cryptography: Approaching communication security from a quantum perspective

A. Porzio

Quantum cryptography aims at solving the everlasting problem of unconditional security in private communication. Every time we send personal information over a telecom channel a sophisticate algorithm protect our privacy making our data unintelligible to unauthorized receivers. These protocols resulted from the long history of cryptography. The security of modern cryptographic systems is guaranteed by complexity: the computational power that would be needed for gaining info on the code key largely exceed available one. Security of actual crypto systems is not “by principle” but “practical”. On the contrary, quantum technology promises to make possible to realize provably secure protocols. Quantum cryptology exploits paradigmatic aspects of quantum mechanics, like superposition principle and uncertainty relations. In this contribution, after a brief historical introduction, we aim at giving a survey on the physical principles underlying the quantum approach to cryptography. Then, we analyze a possible continuous variable protocol.

Review Paper on Quantum Computing and Quantum Cryptography

Brijraj Singh Solanki, Apurva Saini, Apurva Saini

Quantum computing and quantum cryptography are two areas of research that have the potential to transform modern computing and communication. Quantum computing promises to solve computational problems that are beyond the reach of classical computers, while quantum cryptography provides a way to secure communication channels that is immune to eavesdropping. Quantum cryptography is one of the emerging topics in the field of computer industry. This article focuses on quantum cryptography and how this technology makes a valuable contribution to an intensive defense strategy of completely secure key distribution. The scope of this article covers the weaknesses of modern digital cryptographic systems, the basic concepts of quantum cryptography, the practical implementations of this technology, and its limitations. , and finally the future direction that quantum cryptography is headed. We describe the result of an apparatus and protocol designed to perform quantum key distribution, whereby two users do not share any secret information (no private or public keys are known). previously known) initially exchanges a random quantum transmission consisting of veryweakly polarized light rays. In particular, readers can explore the following topics in depth: current cryptographic schemes (symmetric and asymmetric), the difference between quantum and classical computing, challenges of quantum computing, quantum algorithms (Shor and Grover), public key cryptographic schemes affected, symmetry affected schemes, impact on hash functions and post-quantum cryptography

Quantum cryptography: An emerging technology in network security

Mehrdad S. Sharbaf

The uses of computer communications networks technologies have increased the incidents of computer abuse. Because of these incidents, most organizations facing pressure to protect their assets. Most digital networks generally rely on modern cryptosystems to secure the confidentiality and integrity of traffic carried across the network. The current modern cryptosystems based on mathematical model introduce potential security holes related to technological progress of computing power, the key refresh rate and key expansion ratio, the most crucial parameters in the security of any cryptographic techniques. For that reason efforts have been made to establish new foundation for cryptography science in the computer communications networks. One of these efforts has led to the development of quantum cryptography technology, whose security relies on the laws of quantum mechanics [1,2,3,20, 24]. This research paper concentrates on quantum cryptography, and how this technology contributes to the network security. The scope of this research paper is to cover the weaknesses, and the security pitfalls in modern cryptography, fundamental concepts of quantum cryptography, the real - world application implementation of this technology, finally the future direction in which the quantum cryptography is headed forwards.

Quantum Cryptography: The Future of Internet and Security Management

Faisal Abbasi, Pawan Singh

In today’s world, cryptography techniques are used and implemented on the elementary method of finding the prime factor of large integer, which is said to be “Inevitable to Track”. But living in an era where nothing is impossible to achieve, so cryptographic techniques are exposed to both technologies’ advancement in computational power of machines and advancement in the fields of mathematics to break the notion that factoring of large integers into their prime is impossible. To cope up with the threat that cryptography will face is handled by fusion of physics into cryptography, leading to the evolution of Quantum Cryptography. It is one of the fast-growing fields in computer technology. In this paper, I am going to brief the concepts of Quantum Cryptography and how this technology has led to the development of the strategy of complete secure key distribution. The paper covers the loophole present in the modern cryptography techniques, the fundamental principle of quantum cryptography, its implementation in the real world along with the limitation faced in this field, and the possible future of quantum cryptography.

Quantum Mechanics for Secure Communication: The Promise of Quantum Cryptography.

S. Rajendirakumar

Cryptography is the science of securing information by transforming it into a form that cannot be easily understood by unauthorized individuals. Traditional cryptography is based on mathematical problems that are difficult to solve, but as quantum computers become more powerful, these problems will become easier to solve. Quantum cryptography is a promising approach to data security that is immune to attack by quantum computers. It uses the principles of quantum mechanics to create secure communication channels. This article provides an overview of quantum cryptography, including the basic principles, different types of quantum cryptographic protocols, and some of the challenges that are still being addressed. The article also discusses the potential of quantum cryptography to revolutionize data security in the future.
