Abstract

We propose a practical entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for a hybrid entangled state using quantum dots and a microcavity coupled system. A hybrid less-entangled state can be concentrated to a most-entangled state with a certain probability using only one ancillary single photon. Moreover, using this protocol, we can also concentrate an arbitrary three-particle less-entangled W state using two ancillary photons and classical communication. The proposed protocols provide us with a useful method to concentrate less-entangled states, which can be implemented with current technology.

Efficient W-state entanglement concentration using quantum-dot and optical microcavities

Yu‐Bo Sheng, Lan Zhou

We present an entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for the less-entangled W-state with quantum-dot and microcavity coupled systems. The present protocol uses quantum nondemolition measurement on the spin parity to construct the hybrid parity check gate. Different from other ECPs, the less-entangled W-state with quantum-dot and microcavity coupled systems can be concentrated with the help of some single photons. The most significant advantage is that during the whole ECP, we do not destroy the W-state and only consume some local single photons. The whole protocol can be repeated to obtain a higher success probability. It may be useful in current quantum information processing.

Optimal entanglement concentration for quantum dot and optical microcavities systems

Yu‐Bo Sheng, Lan Zhou, Lei Wang +1 more

A recent paper [Chuan Wang, Phys. Rev. A \textbf{86}, 012323 (2012)] discussed an entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for partially entangled electrons using a quantum dot and microcavity coupled system. In his paper, each two-electron spin system in a partially entangled state can be concentrated with the assistance of an ancillary quantum dot and a single photon. In this paper, we will present an optimal ECP for such entangled electrons with the help of only one single photon. Compared with the protocol of Wang, the most significant advantage is that during the whole ECP, the single photon only needs to pass through one microcavity which will increase the total success probability if the cavity is imperfect. The whole protocol can be repeated to get a higher success probability. With the feasible technology, this protocol may be useful in current long-distance quantum communications.

Efficient entanglement concentration for partially entangled electrons using a quantum-dot and microcavity coupled system

Chuan Xi Wang

We present an efficient entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for electron spins based on quantum-dot and microcavity coupled systems. In our ECP, each two-electron spin system in a partially entangled state can be concentrated with the assistance of an ancillary quantum dot and a single photon, not two copies of two-electron spin systems. With current and near-future technology, the locally maximal entanglement of electron spins can be achieved, and our ECP can be used in long-distance quantum communications.

Systematic entanglement concentration for unknown less-entangled three-photon W states

Fang-Fang Du, Fu-Guo Deng

We present a systematic entanglement concentration protocol (ECP) for an arbitrary unknown less-entangled three-photon W state, resorting to the optical property of the quantum-dot spins inside one-sided optical microcavities. In our ECP, the parties obtain not only some three-photon systems in the partially entangled with two unknown parameters when one of the parties picks up the robust odd-parity instance with the parity-check gate (PCG) on his two photons, but also some entangled two-photon systems by keeping the even-parity instance in the first step. By exploiting the above three-photon and two-photon systems with the same parameters as the resource for the second step of our ECP, the parties can obtain a standard three-photon W state by keeping the robust odd-parity instance. Meanwhile, the systems in the even-parity instance can be used as the resource in the next round of our ECP. The success probability of our ECP is largely increased by iteration of the ECP process. As it does require that all the coefficients are unknown for the parties, our ECP maybe have good applications in quantum communication network in future.

Multipartite entanglement concentration for nitrogen-vacancy center and microtoroidal resonator system

Sheng Sheng, Yubo, Liu . +5 more

We describe a high efcient entanglement concentration protocol(ECP)for multi-particle less-entangled nitrogen-vacancy(N-V)center and microtoroidal resonator system. In the ECP,we only require one pair of less-entangled state, two auxiliary N-V center in microcavities and some single photons. After the photon passing through the microcavity,by measuring the polarization of the photon,a maximally entangled W state can be obtained with some success probability. This ECP does not need to destroy the solid qubit, which makes it more feasible. Moreover,by resorting to more single photons,it can be repeated to reach a high success probability. These features make this ECP useful in current long-distance quantum communications.
