Abstract

By keeping the frequency of non-dissipative mesoscopic LC circuit a constant and its parameter varying with the step function, the quantum state of the circuit evolves to a squeezed even coherent state from the initial even coherent state. The nonclassical properties, not only squeezing but also antibunching effects, appear in the circuit by adjusting its inductor parameter under the squeezed even coherent state.

Thermodynamics of squeezed states in mesoscopic circuits

Yinghua Ji, Haimei Luo, Liu Qing +1 more

Based on the information theory, we present a density matrix to discuss coherent and squeezed states in a mesoscopic LC circuit with time-dependent frequency. With the relevant operators included in the density matrix, a connection between the appearance of coherent and squeezed states is established, i.e., the quantum state evolution of the system is closely related to the initial state. Generally speaking, due to the effect of environment temperature, the mesoscopic LC circuit will evolve to a squeezed state when it initially lies in an excited state. In particular, at a low temperature, step changes of circuit parameters will result in a squeezed minimum uncertainty state if the resonance frequency remains the same after the change.

Preparation of Schr?dinger cat state via a mesoscopic LC circuit

Ji Ying-Hua, Haimei Luo, Zhiqing Ye +3 more

A scheme is presented for preparing the superposition of coherent states,i.e.,Schr?dinger cat states. These states can be generated by the action of an external impulse functional signal on initial vaccum state of a mesoscopic LC circuit. The nonclassical squeezing properties appear in the circuit under the Schr?dinger cat states.

Squeezing effects of the mesoscopic LC circuit

Yinghua Ji

According to the fact that a mesoscopic capacitor can be regarded as a mesoscopic junction, we restudied the quantum effects of the mesoscopic LC circuit. The study shows: considering the coupling effects of the mesoscopic capacitor, the mesoscopic LC circuit will evolve from the vacuum state to a squeezing vacuum state. We also research the quantum fluctations of the squeezing vacuum state.

Squeezing effects applied in nonclassical superposition states for quantum nanoelectronic circuits

Jeong Ryeol Choi

Quantum characteristics of a driven series RLC nanoelectronic circuit whose capacitance varies with time are studied using an invariant operator method together with a unitary transformation approach. In particular, squeezing effects and nonclassical properties of a superposition state composed of two displaced squeezed number states of equal amplitude, but 180° out of phase, are investigated in detail. We applied our developments to a solvable specific case obtained from a suitable choice of time-dependent parameters. The pattern of mechanical oscillation of the amount of charges stored in the capacitor, which are initially displaced, has exhibited more or less distortion due to the influence of the time-varying parameters of the system. We have analyzed squeezing effects of the system from diverse different angles and such effects are illustrated for better understanding. It has been confirmed that the degree of squeezing is not constant, but varies with time depending on specific situations. We have found that quantum interference occurs whenever the two components of the superposition meet together during the time evolution of the probability density. This outcome signifies the appearance of nonclassical features of the system. Nonclassicality of dynamical systems can be a potential resource necessary for realizing quantum information technique. Indeed, such nonclassical features of superposition states are expected to play a key role in upcoming information science which has attracted renewed attention recently.

Quantum Effects of a Dissipative Mesoscopic Circuit with Mutual Inductance

Yinghua Ji, Yi-you Nie, Le Jian-Xin +1 more

We study the quantum fluctuations of the charge and current of two L-C dissipative mesoscopic circuit with the mutual inductance in the vacuum state. Our results show that the system state will evolve to a squeezed coherent state under the effect of external source. We find that the squeezing amplitude parameter is relative to the parameters of circuit and the mutual-inductance coefficient in the existence of dissipation. When the circuit has no dissipation or there is complete coupling between two meshes, the squeezing amplitude parameter only depends on the capacitance's ratio.

The evolution of quantum state with time in the time-dependent mesoscopic LC circuit containing source is studied in this paper. The results indicate that under the action of external source, the system will evolve from the vacuum state to the squeezing state for time-dependent LC circuit containing source, but to the coherent state for time-independent LC circuit.
