Interaction of a pair coherent state with a three-level Λ-type atom and generation of a modified Bessel—Gaussian state with a vortex structure

Abstract

The evolution of a system state is derived based on the nonresonant interaction of a three-level “Λ" type atom with two cavity modes at a pair coherent state and two classic fields, and a cavity field state is analyzed in detail under conditional detecting. It is found that the quantized modified Bessel—Gaussian states as well as the superposition states consisting of the quantized vortex states with different weighted coefficients may be prepared through carefully preparing an initial atomic state and appropriately adjusting the interaction time. The scheme provides an additional choice to realize the two-mode quantized vortex state within the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED).

Pair coherent state evolutions through parametric frequency conversion and the realization of quantized vortex states

Zhu Kai-Cheng, Shaoxin Li, Zheng Xiao-Juan +1 more

The pair coherent state evolution during a parametric frequency conversion is analyzed. And the wavefunction of the evolving pair coherent state in configuration space is obtained. It is found that the state may become a modified Bessel-Gaussian vortex state with topological charge index q which is a new non-Gaussian state. In coherent state representation such a modified Bessel-Gaussian vortex state is an eigenstate of sum of squared two-mode annihilation operators a2 + b2. The result obtained in this paper provides a new scheme for generating quantized vortex states in experiment with currently available technology.

Generation of entangled coherent states in cavity QED and its nonclassicality

Chenchao Hua, Shi-Qing Tang

Cavity quantum electrodynamics is the intersection of quantum physics and microcavity optics research. In this paper, we presented a two-mode cavity coupled to a classical field driven by N three-level atoms to prepare entangled coherent states based on cavity QED. In this scheme, we adopt the interaction between the three-level atoms and the two-mode optical cavity, The initial state of one optical field is an odd-even coherent state, while the initial state of another optical field is a coherent state. After considering the time evolution of the initial states with the system, we obtained the specific form of the time evolution of the quantum states and prepared the entangled coherent state successfully. We discussed and analysed some of the nonclassical properties of the optical field and quantum states, including the second-order correlation function and the Wigner function. The results show that when calculating the second-order correlation function, the photons are found to exhibit a sub-Poisson distribution at some points in time. In addition, when observing the Wigner function of the quantum states evolving with time, it is found that there is a negative part of the Wigner distribution at some moments, which implies that the quantum state exhibits nonclassical properties at these certain moments.

Generation of entangled coherent states for two cavity modes via resonant interaction with a V-type three-level atom

Zheng Shi-Biao

This paper proposes a scheme for the generation of entangled coherent states for two cavity modes. In the scheme a V-type three-level atom is sent through a two-mode cavity filled with a coherent field. After the atom–cavity interaction and detection of the atomic state the cavity modes may evolve to a superposition of two-mode coherent states. As the scheme is based on resonant atom–cavity interaction, the required interaction time is short, which is important in view of the decoherence. Moreover, additional classical pulses are unnecessary before and after the atom–cavity interaction.

Generating an entangled coherent state of two cavity modes in a three-level Λ-type atomic system

In this paper, we present a scheme to generate an entangled coherent state by considering a three-level Λ- type atom interacting with a two-mode cavity driven by classical fields. The two-mode entangled coherent state can be obtained under large detuning conditions. Considering the cavity decay, an analytical solution is deduced.

Generation of two-mode entangled coherent states via a cavity QED system

Qing-Xia Mu, Yonghong Ma, Ling Zhou

A scheme is presented for the generation of entangled coherent states in a single-atom cavity-QED system. In the scheme, a three-level V -type atom interacts dispersively with a two-mode cavity and is driven by a classical field. We show that under large detuning conditions the cavity field can evolve into maximally entangled coherent states when one cavity mode is initially prepared in an odd coherent state. The effect of the cavity losses on the entanglement is also studied.

Two-mode superposition coherent states with spatial vortex structure for the quantized radiation field

Kaicheng Zhu, Shaoxin Li, Xiaojuan Zheng +1 more

Through superposing M two-mode coherent state a two-mode superposition coherent state with a spatial vortex structure in configuration space is constructed. Such quantum vortex state is an eigenstate of sum of squared two-mode annihilation operators and is always entangled. In the limiting condition of large M the quantum vortex state has a modified Bessel–Gaussian vortex structure with topological charge index n. Experimentally, such two-mode vortex states may be prepared by virtue of a multimode coherent state with currently available technology.
