Entanglement Fidelity as a Measure of Preservation of Entanglement in Local Noisy Process

Abstract

A new formula of entanglement fidelity has been introduced, which can serve as a measure of the preservation of entanglement between two initially entangled subsystems exposed to local noisy environments. For a simple model we derive analytic expressions of concurrence and entanglement fidelity and draw the relationship between them. We find that such entanglement fidelity exhibits the behavior similar to that of the concurrence in quantum evolutions.

Entanglement fidelity and measurement of entanglement preservation in quantum processes

Yang Xiang, Shi‐Jie Xiong

The entanglement fidelity provides a measure of how well the entanglement between two subsystems is preserved in a quantum process. By using a simple model, we show that in some cases this quantity in its original definition fails in the measurement of entanglement preservation. On the contrary, the modified entanglement fidelity, obtained by using a proper local unitary transformation on a subsystem, is shown to exhibit behavior similar to that of the concurrence in quantum evolution.

Entanglement evolution of two qubits under noisy environments

Jungang Li, Jian Zou, Bin Shao

The entanglement evolution of two qubits under local, single-, and two-sided noisy channels is investigated. It is found that for all pure initial states, the entanglement under a one-sided noisy channel is completely determined by the maximal trace distance which is the main element to construct the measure of non-Markovianity. For the two-sided noisy channel case, when the qubits are initially prepared in a general class of states, either pure or mixed, the entanglement can be expressed as the product of the initial entanglement and the channels' action on the maximally entangled state.

A new entanglement measure based on the total concurrence

Dong-Ping Xuan, Zhong-Xi Shen, Wen Zhou +2 more

Quantum entanglement is a crucial resource in quantum information processing, advancing quantum technologies. The greater the uncertainty in subsystems' pure states, the stronger the quantum entanglement between them. From the dual form of $q$-concurrence ($q\geq 2$) we introduce the total concurrence. A bona fide measure of quantum entanglement is introduced, the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence ($q \geq 2$), which is based on the total concurrence. Analytical lower bounds for the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence are derived. In addition, an analytical expression is derived for the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence in the cases of isotropic and Werner states. Furthermore, the monogamy relations that the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_q$-concurrence satisfies for qubit systems are examined. Additionally, based on the parameterized $α$-concurrence and its complementary dual, the $\mathcal{C}^{t}_α$-concurrence $(0\leqα\leq\frac{1}{2})$ is also proposed.

Entanglement decoherence of two-particle entangled states in a noisy environment

Shao-Hua Xiang, Kehui Song, 怀化学院物理与电子信息科学系,怀化 418008;怀化学院信息科学研究所,怀化 418008

Entanglement decoherence of two particles interacting with the same environment is investigated by means of concurrence and the input-output fidelity. It is found that the entangled states of two-particle system can be divided into two kinds, coherence-preserving states and fragile entangled states. The dynamics of entanglement decoherence for fragile entangled states is discussed by taking into account the ohmic dissipation under the low temperature approximation.

Entanglement Fidelity in Standard Quantum Channels

Niccolò Zanieri, Marios Kountouris

Entanglement fidelity quantifies how well a quantum channel preserves the correlations between a transmitted system and an inaccessible reference system. We derive closed-form expressions for the entanglement fidelity of several standard quantum noise models, including the random Pauli-$X$, dephasing, depolarizing, Werner-Holevo, generalized Pauli (Weyl), and amplitude-damping channels. For each model, we express the entanglement fidelity in terms of a general input density operator${\rho}$, using Schumacher's Kraus-operator approach, which provides a channel-agnostic recipe for any completely positive trace-preserving map with a finite Kraus representation. We then specialize to a communication scenario in which the source emits a two-letter parametric alphabet, thereby making explicit the dependence of entanglement preservation on both channel and source parameters. The resulting expressions enable direct comparisons of channel performance and rankings for representative families of input states.

Quantum entanglement is a crucial resource in quantum information processing, advancing quantum technologies. The greater the uncertainty in subsystems' pure states, the stronger the quantum entanglement between them. From the dual form of qqq-concurrence (q≥2q\geq 2q≥2) we introduce the total concurrence. A bona fide measure of quantum entanglement is introduced, the Cqt\mathcal{C}^{t}_qCqt-concurrence (q≥2q \geq 2q≥2), which is based on the total concurrence. Analytical lower bounds for the Cqt\mathcal{C}^{t}_qCqt-concurrence are derived. For each model, we express the entanglement fidelity in terms of a general input density operatorρ{\rho}ρ, using Schumacher's Kraus-operator approach, which provides a channel-agnostic recipe for any completely positive trace-preserving map with a finite Kraus representation.
