Abstract

Physical model was established to describe the chirped pulse amplification with hybrid-widened linewidth. Physical scheme of homogeneity and inhomogeneity widened linewidth were considered and discussed in detail by simple approximation solution of inversion population equation. Extraction efficiency by varying homogeneous linewidth, inhomogeneous linewidth, and cross relaxation time was discussed.

Physical modeling of broadband pulsed laser amplification process based on hybrid-widened linewidth

Lanqin Liu, Jingqin Su, Luo Bin +4 more

Physical model was established to describe the broadband pulsed laser amplification processes. In this model, Cross relaxation was introduced to study the transformation of homogeneous and inhomogeneous population inversion after laser passage. Hybrid-widened linewidth, homogeneity and inhomogeneity were emphatically considered, which were had not been take into account in other models. Based on the physical model, computer simulation software CPAP for broadband pulse laser amplification process was developed. At last, we discussed the possibility that this broadband physical model can be transfered to the narrow_band physical model under certain conditions.

On the theory of frequency chirped pulse coherent amplification in inhomogeneously broadened gain medium

É. M. Belenov, Peter G. Kryukov, A. Nazarkin

Frequency chirped pulse interaction with inhomogeneously broadened two-level active medium when the pulse width is shorter than the homogeneous relaxation time T2 (coherent interaction) is studied theoretically. It is shown that, unlike the case of incoherent interaction when only half an energy stored can be converted into field, in the nonlinear coherent regime full extraction of active medium energy is possible. The analogy of the effect with Landau–Zener transition between crossing molecular curves is pointed out. Giving high-energy output at relatively low peak intensities, this nonlinear mechanism of energy extraction can be useful for excimer lasers.

Study of the multipass amplification of the chirped pulse and its inverse problem

Chu Xiao-Liang, Bin Zhang, Cai Bang-Wei +11 more

The multipass amplification characters of the chirped pulse in gain medium were studied with the Schrdinger equation and population equation. The inverse problem of multipass amplification of the chirped pulse was studied and simulated by means of the Split-step Fourier and iteration methods, to find the profile of the input pulse from the given output pulse and multipass amplification parameters. The results are useful for the multipass amplification and design of the pulse shaping of the chirped pulse.

The amplification of transform-limited pulses in media with homogeneously broadened line

Vladimir Alekseevich Petrov, Купцов Глеб Владимирович, Victor V. Petrov +3 more

We propose the model of the amplification of the transform-limited pulses in a homogeneously broadened medium. The model provides the information about the output characteristics of an unchirped pulse after passing through an active homogeneously broadened medium and about the population inversion inside the medium at any moment of time.
