Abstract

We report the first realization of quantum correlation transferring. The initial two correlated twin beams are generated from two separated OPO and laser. The transferred intensity quantum correlation degree of 1 dB below SNL is measured.

Transfer of intensity quantum correlation with twin beams

Hongxin Zou, Shuqin Zhai, Rongguo Yang +3 more

We demonstrate experimentally a protocol of transferring nonclassical quantum properties using two pairs of quantum-correlated twin beams in the continuous variable regime. The intensity quantum correlation from one twin beam is transferred to two initially independent idler beams with the help of a displacement transformation. It makes two originally independent beams exhibit an intensity quantum correlation of 0.8 dB below shot-noise level.

Conditional transfer of quantum correlation in the intensity of twin beams

Yun Zhang, Kazuhiro Hayasaka, Katsuyuki Kasai

A conditional protocol of transferring quantum correlations in a continuous variable regime was experimentally demonstrated. The quantum correlation in two pairs of twin beams, each characterized by intensity-difference squeezing of $7.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.3\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{dB}$, was transferred to two initially independent idler beams. The quantum-correlation transfer resulted in intensity-difference squeezing of $4.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.2\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{dB}$ between two idler beams. The dependence of the preparation probability and transfer fidelity on the selection bandwidth was also studied.

Conditional preparation of a quantum state in the continuous variable regime: experimental generation of non classical states from twin beams

Julien Laurat, T. Coudreau, Nicolas Treps +2 more

We report the first experimental demonstration of conditional preparation in the continuous variable regime. Starting from intensity quantum correlated "twin beams" generated by an OPO, we obtain a sub-poissonian state displaying 4.5 dB noise reduction.

Time-resolved entanglement and photon number correlation of twin beams: Application to quantum key distribution scheme

Gagik Yu. Kryuchkyan

Quantum entanglement and intensity correlations in continuous variable (CV) regimes have investigated in the time domain in addition to many analogous investigations performed in the frequency domain. The specific signatures of time-resolved CV quadrature entanglement and intensity difference squeezing have been analyzed for periodically-pulsed optical parametric oscillator (OPO). An application to quantum key distribution scheme based on intensity correlation of twin beams has also been considered.

Observation of Quantum Noise Reduction on Twin Laser Beams

A. Heidmann, R. J. Horowicz, Serge Reynaud +3 more

We have used a two-mode optical parametric oscillator operating above threshold to generate high-intensity twin beams which exhibit quantum correlations. The noise power measured on the intensity difference between two such beams is reduced by 30% below the shot-noise limit. Noise reduction is observed over a broad range of frequencies.

Observation of two-color continuous variable quantum correlation at 08 and 15 μm

Quantum correlation between signal and idler beams at 0.8 and 1.5 μm was experimentally observed by using an above-threshold optical parametric oscillator based on a periodically poled KTiOPO4 crystal. The measured quantum noise reduction in the intensity difference of the twin beams was 2.5 dB. The system presented here is of interest for long-distance quantum information processing.
