Abstract

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme to produce bright quadricolor continuous-variable (CV) entanglement by a four-wave mixing process (FWM) with four-level atoms inside the optical ring cavities operating above threshold. The Stokes and anti-Stokes beams are generated via the pump beam (tuned close to one atomic transition) and the coupling beam (tuned to the resonance of another atomic transition), respectively. The quadruply resonant and narrowed linewidth of the cavity fields with different frequencies are achieved and quadricolor CV entanglement among the four cavity fields is demonstrated according to the criterion proposed by van Loock and Furusawa [Phys. Rev. A 67, 052315 (2003)]. This scheme provides a way to generate bright quadricolor CV entanglement and will be significant for applications in quantum information processing and quantum networks.

Generation of Enhanced Three-Mode Continuously Variable Entanglement

Youbin Yu, Huai-Jun Wang, Jinxia Feng

The generation of enhanced three-mode continuously variable (CV) entanglement via difference-frequency amplification in an optical cavity above the threshold is investigated. The quantum entanglement characteristics among the pump, signal, and idler beams are demonstrated by applying a sufficient inseparability criterion for CV entanglement proposed by van Loock and Furusawa. Bright three-mode CV entanglement with different frequencies can be generated in this simple system when the optical cavity operates above its threshold, and the best three-mode CV entanglement can be obtained when the pump threshold parameter is modulated at about σ = 1.3.

Bright six-partite continuous variable entanglement using cascaded four-wave mixing processes in a four-level atomic system

Guangqiang He, Xuefei Wu, Yi Gu

We theoretically show that bright six-partite continuous-variable entanglement can be generated using cascaded four-wave mixing effects of third-order nonlinearity atomic systems above threshold. The six-partite continuous-variable entanglement among the six cavity fields with different frequencies is analyzed by applying optimized inseparability criteria proposed by Van Loock and Furusawa.

The generation of Continuous-Variable Entanglement Frequency Comb

Youbin Yu, Xiaomin Cheng, Huaijun Wang +5 more

Continuous-variable (CV) entanglement frequency comb can be produced by enhanced Raman scattering in an above-threshold optical oscillator cavity in which a hexagonally-poled LiTaO3 crystal resides as a Raman gain medium. The Stokes and anti-Stokes Raman signals are enhanced by a coupled quasi-phase-matching optical parametric process and the entanglement natures among these Raman signals and pump are demonstrated by applying a sufficient inseparability criterion for CV entanglement. Such entanglement frequency comb source with different frequencies and continuously tunable frequency interval may be very significant for the applications in quantum communication and networks.

Implementation of bright two-color quadripartite continuous-variable entanglement by the quantum optical dimer

J. F. Wang, Jiteng Sheng, Shining N. Zhu +1 more

An experimentally feasible intracavity coupler scheme is proposed to generate bright quadripartite continuous-variable (CV) entanglement by the coupled second-harmonic generation processes. By solving the steady-state equations and calculating the correlation spectra of the four output beams, we show that the four output beams are all entangled with each other according to the sufficient inseparability criterion for multipartite CV entanglement. By utilizing the upconversion process, the generated four entanglement fields have macroscopic intensities as soon as the input fields are turned on.

Generation of hexapartite entanglement in a four-wave-mixing process with a spatially structured pump: Theoretical study

Hailong Wang, Kai Zhang, Nicolas Treps +3 more

We have experimentally shown in a recent paper [Wang et al., Phys. Rev. A 95, 051802(R) (2017)] that a four-wave mixing (FWM) process in a Rb vapor with a spatially structured pump (SSP), consisting of a coherent combination of two tilted pump beams, can generate six well-separated bright beams that are quantum correlated. The experimental setup is compact, simple, phase insensitive, and easily scalable to a larger number of quantum correlated beams. For applications to quantum information processing, multipartite entanglement is needed in addition to quantum correlations. Very recently, we have also experimentally demonstrated the generation of the hexapartite entanglement from this SSP-based FWM process [Zhang et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 124, 090501 (2020)]. The purpose of this theoretical paper is to extensively investigate the hexapartite entanglement properties by using different entanglement witnesses such as the van Loock-Furusawa criterion and the positivity under partial transposition criterion. We find that hexapartite entanglement is indeed present among the six beams. In addition, we also study the supermodes of this system using basis change.
