Abstract

We present some models of quantum mechanics which use fuzzy set approaches: fuzzy measurable spaces and fuzzy quantum posets of two types. Also presented are compatibility problems, observables and their representations, functional calculus of observables, and states (= probability measures).

QUANTUM THEORY BASED ON FUZZY SETS

Ferdinand Chovanec, Mária Jurečkova

A new probability model based on the theory of fuzzy sets is presented. In thismodel, a difference of comparable fuzzy sets is the primary operation. The idea ofa difference of fuzzy sets (fuzzy events) is simple: If we have two comparable eventsa and b ( a ≤ b ), then our knowledge on a and b entails the complete knowledge ofthe complement of a in b , i. e., b ⊖ a .The new algebraic structure of fuzzy sets is called a difference poset (a D-poset) offuzzy sets. Some properties of a lattice ordered D-poset of fuzzy sets (a D-lattice offuzzy sets) are studied. An MV-algebra of fuzzy sets (a Bold algebra) is characterizedin the D-poset of fuzzy sets set-up. The sufficient and necessary conditions for a Dlatticeof fuzzy sets to be a Bold algebra are given. The basic notions of the quantumlogic theory - a state and an observable are defined in D-posets of fuzzy sets.

Quantum Probability Calculus as Fuzzy-Kolmogorovian Probability Calculus

Jarosław Pykacz, Luigi Accardi, Guillaume Adenier +5 more

Representation of quantum logics by families of fuzzy sets allows to build fuzzy set‐theoretic models of quantum probability spaces in a way fully analogous to the Kolmogorov construction of a classical probability space. Therefore, quantum probability calculus on the one hand may be seen as a special kind of fuzzy probability calculi, and on the other hand it proves to be more similar to the classical probability calculus than it is generally believed.

A new approach to representation of observables on fuzzy quantum posets

Lê Bá Long

We give a representation of an observable on a fuzzy quantum poset of type II by a pointwise defined real-valued function. This method is inspired by that of Kolesárová [6] and Mesiar [7], and our results extend representations given by the author and Dvurečenskij [4]. Moreover, we show that in this model, the converse representation fails, in general.

ON SOME CONTRIBUTIONS TO QUANTUM STRUCTURES BY FUZZY SETS

Beloslav Rie

It is well known that the fuzzy sets theory can be successfully used in quantum models ([5,26]). In this paper we give first a review of recent development in the probability theory on tribes and their generalizations ‐ multivalued (MV)-algebras. Secondly we show some applications of the described method to develop probability theory on IF-events.

Can Fuzzy Sets Be Useful in the (Re) Interpretation of Uncertainty in Quantum Mechanics?

Rudolf Seising

New scientific theories have been and will always be required for the progress of science. Two examples of new theories that were advanced in the 20th century are quantum mechanics and fuzzy set theory. Both deal with the concept of uncertainty and both use mathematical tools that are essentially different from those used in classical probability theory. In both, the introduction of new concepts (theoretical terms) was necessary because phenomena and processes observed in the real world could not be explained with existing mathematical concepts. This paper examines the possibilities of (re)interpreting uncertainty in quantum mechanics with the aid of fuzzy sets and systems
