Abstract

We experimentally prepare the quadripartite box cluster entangled states using a pair of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen entangled optical beams and propose a scheme to demonstrate CNOT gate of continuous variables based on the prepared box cluster states.

Quantum logical gates with linear quadripartite cluster states of continuous variables

Aihong Tan, Changde Xie, Kunchi Peng

The concrete schemes to realize three types of basic quantum logical gates using linear quadripartite cluster states of optical continuous variables are proposed. The influences of noises and finite squeezing on the computation precision are analyzed in terms of the fidelity of propagated quantum information through the continuous variable cluster states. The proposed schemes provide direct references for the design of experimental systems implementing quantum computation with the cluster entanglement of amplitude and phase quadratures of light.

Experimental Preparation of Quadripartite Cluster and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger Entangled States for Continuous Variables

Xiaolong Su, Aihong Tan, Xiaojun Jia +3 more

The cluster states and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states are two different types of multipartite quantum entangled states. We present the first experimental results generating continuous variable quadripartite cluster and GHZ entangled states of electromagnetic fields. Utilizing two amplitude-quadrature and two phase-quadrature squeezed states of light and linearly optical transformations, the two types of entangled states for amplitude and phase quadratures of light are experimentally produced. The combinations of the measured quadrature variances prove the full inseparability of the generated four subsystems. The presented experimental schemes show that the multipartite entanglement of continuous variables can be deterministically generated with the relatively simple implementation.

Generation of GHZ-like and cluster-like quadripartite entangled states for continuous variable using a set of quadrature squeezed states

Su Xiao

We designed the experimental generation system of the optical GHZ-like and cluster-like quadripartite entangled states for continuous variables. We theoretically demonstrated that the two different types of quadripartite entangled states can be obtained by the linearly optical transformation of four amplitude-quadrature and phase-quadrature squeezed states produced from a pair of nondegenerate optical parametric amplifiers under appropriate phase relations. The criteria for full inseparability of quadripartite cluster-like state were deduced, and the dependency of the quadripartite entanglement on the initial squeezing degree, the transmission efficiencies of the system and the detection efficiency of homodyne detection were numerically calculated.

Remote state preparation and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering for optical hybrid quantum information processing

Adrien Cavaillès, Hanna Le Jeannic, Jérémy Raskop +2 more

Summary form only given. Optical hybrid quantum information processing aims at mixing the traditionally separated discrete (DV) and continuous variable (CV) tools and concepts. In this approach, both DV states, such as single photons, and CV states, for example Schrödinger cats states: |cat ±〉 ∝ |α〉 ± | - α〉, are used. Having succeeded in experimentally generating hybrid entanglement of light for flying qubits [2], we will report on two protocols using this resource: the remote preparation of arbitrary CV qubits as well as the first demonstration of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) steering in the context of hybrid quantum information.

Time-gated Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlation

Nobuyuki Takei, Noriyuki Lee, Daiki Moriyama +2 more

We experimentally demonstrate the creation and characterization of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) correlation between optical beams in a time-gated fashion. The correlated beams are created with two independent continuous-wave optical parametric oscillators and a half beam splitter. We define the temporal modes using a square temporal filter with duration $T$ and make time-resolved measurements on the generated state. We observe correlations between the relevant conjugate variables in the temporal mode which correspond to EPR correlation. Our scheme is extendable to continuous-variable quantum teleportation of a non-Gaussian state defined in the time domain such as a superposition of coherent states.

Teleportation of continuous quantum variables using squeezed-state entanglement

Kok Win Goh, C. W. Chou, Tiancai Zhang +2 more

We report recent developments in our experiment to teleport light beams by utilizing Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) entanglement for continuous quantum variables. We describe details of our experimental apparatus, including the generation of EPR entanglement from squeezed states of light. In addition, we have developed an explicit model for the teleportation of coherent states that includes the effect of diverse loss factors and limited degrees of entanglement, and that enables us to project the possibilities for achieving yet higher fidelities beyond the currently achieved value of 62% with our apparatus. Propects for other teleportation schemes will also be discussed.
