In Our daily life we are getting very much dependent on Internet or Virtual Reality. They are nothing but an illusion of a Cyberspace. It has effect on our every aspect of life, like Education, Sports, and Health etc. We are using the term Cryptography which is the science of using mathematics to encrypt and decrypt data. We had used various Encryption standards in back days namely, DES, AES, RSA, Elliptical AES etc. But nowadays we are using Quantum Cryptography for this. It is nothing but use of Physics (mainly Quantum Physics) for Encrypting the data. In this Research paper we will mainly focus on the new approaches that come in the path of Quantum Cryptography. We will also view some interaction of Quantum Cryptography in future Internet services. Quantum computing is yet to be explored but still the explored part has the capabilities to counter the “alien” hacking protocols if tested over any System. Older System were using protocols like RSA, AES, DES even some of them are more capable than our need, but the use of QC will not only secure the systems but there are major chances that eavesdropper got caught while eavesdropping. Also QC is a pathway to secure communication. This paper includes the review of older state of Quantum Cryptography which will give us information about QKD algorithms and its protocol and we will also overview on its risk and security features. We will also provide a glimpse of current various works going in various Educational Institutions.
Nowadays, the information is exchanged among the computer network. These data and information are involved in business, military, academic education, research and etc. which are shared around the world in both private and public network. Since, many categories of data are required restriction on authorization of access, modify, delete and insert, security in communication is increasingly important to the network communication. Currently, computer security applies mathematic theory to computer security for encrypting and decrypting on both sender and receiver. To use security attack with high performance computer (e.g. quantum computer), attacker can find a key and then obtains the data in feasible period. Quantum cryptography is one of the solutions that use property of polarization to ensure that transmitted data is not trapped by eavesdropper. Quantum cryptography is improved significantly in the last decades including the most two dominant protocol BB84 and BB92.
A novel approach to secure data transmission, quantum communication draws on fundamental principles of quantum physics. It ensures that the transmitted information is private and accurate. To provide security, quantum networks implement physical constraints such as the no-cloning rule and quantum entanglement. In contrast, computational complexity is employed by classical networks. However, with the proliferation of multiuser quantum networks, identity verification has become more challenging. People with malicious intentions might easily disrupt services in long-distance quantum networks by impersonating legitimate nodes and sharing entangled resources and quantum channels. This highlights the absolute necessity of secure authentication systems tailored to quantum environments. Enhancements to recent quantum authentication systems have been made utilizing techniques that are resistant to quantum computing. Researchers are looking into quantum digital signatures, entanglement-assisted protocols, and quantum key distribution (QKD) authentication to make multi-party communications more secure. In order to prevent attacks where a user establishes a fraudulent identity or account, these strategies can be applied to quantum networks. This study takes a look at current quantum authentication systems and gives them the once-over, focusing on how well they could handle multiple users. The article delves into the evolution of authentication systems to accommodate the distributed model, where nodes can function as senders, receivers, or relays. We aim to strike a compromise between practicality and security in our lightweight, low-latency protocols. Additionally, the paper discusses quantum-specific issues, such as side-channel attacks and device malfunctions, and how authentication techniques can help prevent them. Finally, this study demonstrates that authentication is the critical component of secure quantum communication for multiple users. The most secure quantum key distribution methods are still vulnerable to attacks from inside or outside the system if proper authentication is not in place.
Security is crucial for wireless communication networks, especially as quantum computing advances rapidly. It won’t be long before quantum attacks become feasible, potentially crippling large wireless networks within minutes. Current methods for securing connections and transactions—such as keys, certificates, and data—could be compromised by quantum computers. One concern is the use of fake base stations with stronger signal strengths to lure users into connecting with them in wireless communication network. A quantum-powered attacker could easily break traditional encryption algorithms and launch various attacks almost instantly. An example of this is the "bidding down" attack, where an attacker convinces both the user and network entities that security features are not upheld, despite their actual presence. This type of attack exploits the security weaknesses of older mobile networks. This paper explores security advancements and challenges related to contemporary public key cryptography, including RSA algorithms based on factorization and discrete logarithm problems with Diffie-Hellman and Elliptic-Curve Cryptography (ECC). While these methods provide adequate protection today, quantum computers could potentially break these algorithms or weaken cryptographic keys and hashes within minutes. Quantum cryptography, or quantum-resistant cryptography, objectives to develop algorithms and protocols resilient to quantum computing threats. This paper examines security vulnerabilities in wireless communication networks, focusing on key confirmation and authentication mechanisms. We propose a robust authentication and key agreement protocol for 5G networks using quantum-resistant cryptography. Our proposed protocol, verified with a verification tool, enhances the security of the authentication and key agreement procedures in wireless communication networks.
The fast adoption of distributed e-learning platforms has brought about serious cybersecurity concerns in terms of securing communication, authentications, and ensuring data confidentiality in cloud-based learning services. Traditional forms of cryptography, including RSA and ECC, are becoming increasingly susceptible to attacks due to quantum computation, thus requiring quantum-proofing of communication systems. In this research, a Hybrid Quantum-Resistant Communication Architecture (H-QRCF) is proposed to enable secure communication between distributed e-learning services using post-quantum cryptography, along with light symmetric encryption and secure authentication. The hybrid framework consists of post-quantum key exchanges, AES-256 symmetric encryptions, SHA-3 hash functions, and session authentication. The entire communication system was developed in Python 3.11 and tested in a distributed communication network environment composed of 25 distributed e-learning service nodes and 50,000 secure communication instances. Results were obtained on six important performance parameters, including encryption time, decryption time, throughput, packet delivery ratio, communication overhead, and security strength. The experimental results confirmed that the proposed H-QRCF architecture provided significantly improved results compared to other techniques such as RSA, ECC, AES-RSA Hybrid, and classical post-quantum approaches. With the proposed technique, the encryption time is reduced to 63 ms and the decryption time is reduced to 68 ms, delivering a throughput of 78 Mbps and a packet delivery ratio of 98.7%. Furthermore, the proposed approach ensures minimal communication overhead of 12% and 98% defense against various types of attacks, including replay attack, impersonation attack, brute force attack, and quantum attack. An ablation study has also validated the benefits of using post-quantum key exchange, hybrid encryption, authentication, and session key refresh methods in the proposed approach.
Digital signatures are growing in importance as a legal standing with traditional handwritten signatures, most secure web transactions today are already dependent on digital signatures, which are included as part of the digital certificates a server presents to a client identify. The digital certificates bind a key exchange algorithm with an identity and enable a receiver to verify the sender's digital signature, or as case when setting up a secure connection with a web server, enable a client to encrypt information. This paper, describes the quantum computing with the representation of quantum bit, then this paper explains the proposed algorithm which is serving digital signature under unsecure communication channel by applying the quantum key exchange algorithm which is more complex in degree of computational complexity in data security of client than the classical key exchange algorithm.
