Abstract

We appreciate the Comment by Glückstad et al. [Opt. Lett. 28, 1075 (2003)] in the sense that it allows us to clarify an inherent possibility of counterfeiting phase-only encrypted information and some important points in our original Letter [Opt. Lett. 28, 304 (2003)]. We also take this opportunity to show the usefulness of the method that we described.

Comment on Interferometric phase-only optical encryption system that uses a reference wave

Jesper Glückstad, Vincent R. Daria, Peter John Rodrigo

We explain the vulnerability of the phase-only encryption procedure suggested by Seo and Kim [Opt. Lett. 28, 304 (2003)] and clarify issues regarding its robustness and degree of security compared with those of a previously reported phase-only encryption method.

Asymmetric cryptosystem using random binary phase modulation based on mixture retrieval type of Yang-Gu algorithm: reply

Wei Liu, Zhengjun Liu, Shutian Liu

We appreciate the comment by He et al. [Opt. Lett.38, 4044 (2013)] in the sense that it allows us to clarify our methodology of constructing an optical asymmetric cryptosystem, especially the relationship of the public encryption keys and private decryption keys. We also take this opportunity to provide a more detailed discussion to promote the research about the optical encryption schemes with asymmetric keys into a more correct direction.

This is a brief comment on the Letter by Balygin and his coworkers [Laser Phys. Lett. 15, 095203 (2018)]. We point out an error that invalidates the Letter's conclusions.

Reply to comment on “Resolving the wave vector and the refractive index from the coefficient of reflectance”

V. U. Nazarov, Yia‐Chung Chang

We reinterpret our earlier letter [Opt. Lett.32, 2939 (2007)] to demonstrate that the resolution it gives to the problem of the sign of the wave vector and the refractive index is valid for active media without instabilities but invalid otherwise.

Asymmetric optical cryptosystem based on coherent superposition and equal modulus decomposition: comment

Xiaopeng Deng

I comment on the recent Letter by Cai et al. [Opt. Lett.40, 475 (2015).], in which the authors claimed that the method can resist the special attack. However, I think their attack analysis and algorithm are ill-considered and worth discussing.
