Relationships between the Radon–Wigner and fractional Fourier transforms

Adolf W. Lohmann, Bernard H. Soffer

Abstract

Two recently described transforms are shown to be related. The Radon–Wigner transform is the squared modulus of the fractional Fourier transform. This new theorem may serve to translate signal and image processing results between different signal representations. Some consequences regarding moments are presented, including a new fractional-Fourier-transform uncertainty relation. Implications for processing are suggested.

The fractional fourier transform and the wigner distribution

David Mustard

Abstract The Wigner distribution and many other members of the Cohen class of generalized phase-space distributions of a signal all share certain translation properties and the property that their two marginal distributions of energy density along the time and along the frequency axes equal the signal power and the spectral energy density. A natural generalization of this last property is shown to be a certain relationship through the Radon transform between the distribution and the signal's fractional Fourier transform. It is shown that the Wigner distribution is now distinguished by being the only member of the Cohen class that has this generalized property as well as a generalized translation property. The inversion theorem for the Wigner distribution is then extended to yield the fractional Fourier transforms.

From Complex Fractional Fourier Transform to Complex Fractional Radon Transform

FANHong-Yi, Hong-Yi, Jiang +1 more

We show that for n-dimensional complex fractional Fourier transform the corresponding complex fractional Radon transform can also be derived, however, it is different from the direct product of two n-dimensional real fractional Radon transforms. The complex fractional Radon transform of two-mode Wigner operator is calculated.

Fractional Radon Transform and Transform of Wigner Operator

Fan Hong-Yi, Junhua Chen

Based on the Radon transform and fractional Fourier transform we introduce the fractional Radon transformation (FRT). We identify the transform kernel for FRT. The FRT of Wigner operator is derived, which naturally reduces to the projector of eigenvector of the rotated quadrature in the usual Radon transform case.

Uncertainty principles for coupled fractional Wigner–Ville distribution

Andi Tenri Ajeng Nur, Mawardi Bahri, Nasrullah Bachtiar +1 more

The coupled fractional Wigner-Ville distribution is a more general version of the fractional Wigner-Ville distribution. Main properties including boundedness, Moyal's formula and inversion formula are studied in detail for the transformation. Additionally, the relation of the coupled fractional Wigner-Ville distribution with the two-dimensional Fourier transform is studied. We also present the relationship between the coupled fractional Wigner-Ville distribution with the two-dimensional Wigner-Ville distribution. We show how the properties and relations allow us to derive several versions of the uncertainty inequalities related to the coupled fractional Wigner-Ville distribution.
