Abstract

We propose a scheme of realization of fast quantum information transfer and two-qubit entangled state with two different superconducting flux qubits coupled to a single-mode resonator. In this approach, the two lowest levels of each Λ-type flux qubit serve as the logical states and a higher-energy intermediate level is used as the gate manipulation. This proposal does not require equal device parameters for the two flux qubits that is extremely difficult to achieve experimentally. In addition, neither a second-order detuning nor auxiliary qubits are required in this scheme. Moreover, there is no need to change the Rabi frequencies to satisfy the adiabatic passage. Therefore, the operation time can be shortened to 20–30 ns, which is faster by one order of magnitude compared to the schemes employing the second-order detuning technique.

Quantum information transfer with superconducting flux qubits coupled to a resonator

Chui‐Ping Yang

We propose a way for implementing quantum information transfer with two superconducting flux qubits by coupling them to a resonator. This proposal does not require adjustment of the level spacings or uniformity in the device parameters. Moreover, neither adiabatic passage nor a second-order detuning is needed by this proposal, thus the operation can be performed much faster when compared with the previous proposals.

Fast quantum information transfer with superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity

Chui‐Ping Yang

We present a way to realize quantum information transfer with superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity. Because only resonant qubit–cavity and qubit–pulse interactions are applied, the information transfer can be performed much faster when compared with the previous proposals. This proposal does not require adjustment of the qubit level spacings during the operation. Moreover, neither uniformity in the device parameters nor exact placement of qubits in the cavity are needed.

Quantum logical gates with four-level superconducting quantum interference devices coupled to a superconducting resonator

We propose a way for realizing a two-qubit controlled phase gate with superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) coupled to a superconducting resonator. In this proposal, the two lowest levels of each SQUID serve as the logical states and two intermediate levels of each SQUID are used for the gate realization. We show that neither adjustment of SQUID level spacings during the gate operation nor uniformity in SQUID parameters is required by this proposal. In addition, this proposal does not require the adiabatic passage or a second-order detuning and thus the gate is much faster.

We present a way for fast implementation of a two-qubit controlled phase gate with superconducting flux qubits coupled to a cavity. A distinct feature of this proposal is that since only qubit-cavity resonant interaction and qubit-pulse resonant interaction are used, the gate can be performed much faster when compared with the previous proposals. This proposal does not require adjustment of the qubit level spacings during the gate operation. In addition, neither uniformity in the qubit parameters nor exact placement of qubits in the cavity is needed by this proposal.

Fast population transfer and entanglement preparation among four superconducting flux qubits

Peng Xu, Shengmei Zhao

Abstract We propose a scheme whereby we optimized the driven pulses applied on qubits to realize fast and robust population of quantum state transfer and entanglement generation between four superconducting flux qubits based on adiabatic passage. The quantum state was transferred from one qubit to another directly with high fidelity through applying an inverted set of pulses. Moreover, the resident time of the quantum state populated on the qubits could be controlled by adjusting the time delay between the driven pulses during the transfer process. Analysis of the dynamics demonstrates that the scheme is insensitive to inhomogeneous qubit–resonator coupling, and even for large detuning regimes of the qubit–resonator interaction, high-fidelity quantum state transfer and entanglement generation can be obtained. Our results also show that the effect of decoherence due to resonator decay and qubit relaxation could be negligible with currently existing technology.

Manipulating Quantum State in Superconducting Dressed-State Systems

Feng‐Yang Zhang, Pei Pei, Chong Li +1 more

We construct a novel Λ-type system via the dressed states formed by the coupling between a superconducting qubit and a transmission line resonator (TLR). Compared with the conventional three-level structure, our model averts the decay of excited states. We choose the two lowest energy dressed states as the logical states. The single qubit quantum gate can be realized by the adiabatic passage and three-step operation method, respectively. Based on realistic parameters, the feasibility of the adiabatic passage method is discussed. Also, we calculate the fidelity (0.9996) of realizing the single qubit gate with the three-step operation method.
