Abstract

We investigate the entanglement of a degenerate Raman process involving two degenerate Rydberg energy levels of an atom interacting with a single-mode cavity field. We use the concurrence as an entanglement measure and show that long living entanglement can be obtained for certain choices of the system parameters.

Statistical properties of a Raman three-level atom interacting with a cavity field

We investigate the linear entropy of a degenerate Raman process involving two degenerate Rydberg energy levels of an atom interacting with a cavity field. It is shown that a long living entanglement can be obtained for particular initial state settings. We demonstrate how these states can be observed experimentally and study the feasibility of the implementation with present day technology.

Single-Mode Cavity-QED of a Raman Interaction

N. Nayak, Saad S. M. Hassan, Biswas, T.

We consider a single Rydberg atom having two degenerate levels interacting with the radiation field in a single-mode ideal cavity. The transition between the levels is carried out by a $Λ$-type degenerate two-photon process via a third level far away from single-photon resonance. At the start of interaction, the atom is considered to be in a coherent superposition of its two levels and the field in a coherent state. We study the dynamics of the atomic as well as the field states. The squeezing in the quadratures of atomic states can reach up to $100\%$. The cavity field evolves to a statistical mixture of two coherent fields with the phase difference between them decided by the interaction time. Analysis of entropies of the atom and the field shows that the two systems are dis-entangled periodically in certain cases.

SHANNON INFORMATION AND ENTROPY SQUEEZING OF A SINGLE-MODE CAVITY QED OF A RAMAN INTERACTION

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty, ISSA A. AL-KHAYAT, Shoukry S. Hassan

Entropy squeezing is examined in the framework of Shannon information entropy for a degenerate Raman process involving two degenerate Rydberg energy levels of an atom interacting with a single-mode cavity field. Quantum squeezing in entropy is exhibited via the entropic uncertainty relation.

Controlling entanglement dynamics via Raman interaction in two-mode cavity QED

Wan-Jun Su, Xiu Ru Lin

We investigate the entanglement dynamics of an entangled atom pair via Wootters' concurrence. Only one atom of the pair interacts with a two-mode cavity field via a Raman interaction. The number simulation shows that the entanglement of the atom pair will display sudden death and revival phenomena when the cavity photon numbers and the two-mode atom–cavity coupling strengths are changed. Due to the two-mode field effect, the entanglement sudden death phenomenon will disappear more easily by enlarging the different cavity mode–atom coupling ratio. The oscillation rate of the concurrence is enlarged by increasing the mean photon number of the cavity field.

ENTANGLEMENT DYNAMICS AND COHERENCE OF A TWO-LEVEL ATOM COUPLED TO TWO FIELD MODES IN THE DISPERSIVE APPROXIMATION

Jian-Song Zhang, PING YU, Aixi Chen

We investigate the entanglement dynamics and coherence loss of a two-level atom dispersively interacting with two coherent fields in a dissipative cavity by using the concurrence and linear entropy, respectively. It is shown that the atomic coherence can lead to entanglement between the atom and one mode while the two modes are always separable. We also find that there is long-lived coherence loss as the system evolves.

LONG-LIVED ENTANGLEMENT OF THREE-ATOM IN AN OPTICAL CAVITY WITH PHASE DECOHERENCE

Jian-Song Zhang, Aixi Chen

We investigate the entanglement dynamics in a quantum system consisting of three two-level atoms resonantly coupled to a single mode cavity in the presence of phase decoherence. With the help of the dynamical algebraic method, we obtain an analytical solution of the present system. The influence of phase decoherence on the entanglement of the system is studied. We find that the entanglement between the cavity field and any atom will be destroyed completely by phase decoherence as the system evolves. However, there is long-lived entanglement (or stationary state entanglement) of arbitrary two atoms, that is, the entanglement of atoms is more robust against phase decoherence than that of the atom-field system.
