Abstract

By applying an ansatz to the wave function, the solutions of the D -dimensional radial Schrödinger equation with some anharmonic potentials are obtained. The restriction on the parameters of the given potential and η are also presented, where η depends on a linear combination of the angular momentum quantum number ℓ and the spatial dimensions D .

On solutions of the Schrödinger equation for some molecular potentials: wave function ansatz

Sameer M. Ikhdair, R. Sever

Abstract Making an ansatz to the wave function, the exact solutions of the D-dimensional radial Schrödinger equation with some molecular potentials, such as pseudoharmonic and modified Kratzer, are obtained. Restrictions on the parameters of the given potential, δ and ν are also given, where η depends on a linear combination of the angular momentum quantum number ℓ and the spatial dimensions D and δ is a parameter in the ansatz to the wave function. On inserting D = 3, we find that the bound state eigensolutions recover their standard analytical forms in literature.

The solution of D-dimensional Schrodinger equation for potential V(r)=ar2+br+cr-1+dr-2+er-3+fr-4 by using Ansatz method

Kristiana Nathalia Wea, Suparmi Suparmi, C. Cari +1 more

The solution of the Schrodinger equation with the physical potential is important part in quantum mechanics. The anharmonic potential is one of the physical potential that is interesting to be explored. Many methods have been developed to solve the Schrodinger equation. The Ansatz wave function method is one of the many methods that used to solve the Schrodinger equation. The Ansatz wave function method was used to solve the radial part of Schrodinger Equation. In this study we present the solution of the radial part Schrodinger equation in D-dimensional system with potential V(r)=ar2+br+cr-1+dr-2+er-3+fr-4. The important part in Ansatz wave function method is to determine the wave function Ansatz corresponding to the shape of the anharmonic potential that used. The Ansatz wave function determined by using supersymmetric approximation. By substituting the wave function Ansatz into Schrodinger equation and using algebraic we obtain the radial eigenfunction and the energy, and then the eigenfunction visualized.

Relation Between Dimension and Angular Momentum for Radially Symmetric Potential in N -Dimensional Space

Zhao Wei-Qin

It is proved that when solving Schrödinger equations for radially symmetric potentials the effect of higher dimensions on the radial wave function is equivalent to the effect of higher angular momenta in lower-dimensional cases. This result is applied to giving solutions for several radially symmetric potentials in N dimensions.

Exact solution to the time-dependent Schrödinger equation in two dimensions

R. S. Kaushal

With a view to obtaining an exact analytic solution to the time-dependent Schr\"odinger wave equation for noncentral harmonic and anharmonic potentials in two dimensions, we make use of an ansatz for the eigenfunction in conjunction with the methods of Burgan et al. [Phys. Lett. 74A, 11 (1979)] and Ray [Phys. Rev. A 26, 729 (1982)]. While the method is found to work well for a restricted class of harmonic potentials, its limitations in the case of anharmonic potentials are pointed out.
