Abstract

We analytically investigate the generation of mesoscopic entanglement between deformed coherent states which result from the action of the non-standard displacement (displacement-like) operator on the cavity mode vacuum state, and between deformed coherent states and Fock states, based on a dissipative one-photon interaction of a two-level atom with single-mode cavities under strong driving fields. By using the quantum trajectory method and displacement-like operators, we analytically present the detrimental effect of the cavity decay on the generated states and briefly discuss the feasibility of experimental preparation of those states in cavity QED.

Entangling Mesoscopic Squeezed Vacuum States and Mesoscopic Coherent States in Dissipative Cavity QED System

Changyong Chen, Shaohua Li

A scheme has been proposed for generating the macroscopic entanglement between the mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states and mesoscopic coherent states by considering both the two-photon interaction and the single photon interaction of N two-level atoms in cavities with high quality factor assisted by a strong driving field. Moreover, we derive the dissipative interaction models for single photon interaction and two-photon interaction, respectively. The corresponding analytical expressions of the fidelities can be given. Our scheme can be realized in the current techniques on the cavity QED.

Superposition and entanglement of mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states in cavity QED

Changyong Chen, Mang Feng, Kelin Gao

We propose a scheme to generate superposition and entanglement between the mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states by considering the two-photon interaction of $N$ two-level atoms in a cavity with high quality factor, assisted by a strong driving field. By virtue of specific choices of the cavity detuning, a number of multiparty entangled states can be prepared, including the entanglement between the atomic and the squeezed vacuum cavity states and between the squeezed vacuum states and the coherent states of the cavities. We also present how to prepare entangled states and ``Schr\"odinger cats'' states regarding the squeezed vacuum states of the cavity modes. The possible extension and application of our scheme are discussed. Our scheme is close to the reach with current cavity QED techniques.

Generation of two-mode entangled coherent states via a cavity QED system

Qing-Xia Mu, Yonghong Ma, Ling Zhou

A scheme is presented for the generation of entangled coherent states in a single-atom cavity-QED system. In the scheme, a three-level V -type atom interacts dispersively with a two-mode cavity and is driven by a classical field. We show that under large detuning conditions the cavity field can evolve into maximally entangled coherent states when one cavity mode is initially prepared in an odd coherent state. The effect of the cavity losses on the entanglement is also studied.

Analytical treatment of W-state preparation in cavity QED in the presence of very weak dissipation

Changyong Chen, Kelin Gao, Mang Feng

We propose an analytical treatment method of generation of multipartite W-type states with a single-resonant interaction of the atoms with the cavity mode in cavity QED, under the consideration of very weak decay from the excited atomic level and from the cavity mode. By manipulating different coupling strengths between the atoms and the cavity mode, we show how to deterministically produce W states, including the standard W state and the one with arbitrary coefficients. The corresponding analytical expressions are given, indicating that the detrimental influence from the atomic spontaneous emission is three times that from the cavity decay. The experimental feasibility of our scheme is also discussed by using current cavity QED techniques.

Entanglement dynamics of two qubits driven by classical laser field

Xiao Qing-sheng

The entanglement dynamics of two two-level atoms which are respectively trapped in two independent dissipative single-mode cavities and strongly driven by the classical fields is investigated analytically utilizing the super operator method. It is found that the entanglement is not related to the initial value of the cavity coherent states. The driving field enhances the entanglement sudden death for small dissipation of the cavity, while it protects the entanglement from sudden death for large dissipation in the presence of strong driving field. These results show that even in the bad cavity(with large decay rate),the entanglement can be free from sudden death with the assistance of classical driving field.

Generation of multipartite entangled states by cavity QED

Zhang Ying-Jie, Ren Ting-Qi, Yun‐Jie Xia

We propose the methods of generating multipartite entanglement by considering the interaction of a system of N two-level atoms in M cavities of high quality factor with a strong classical driving field. It is shown that, with the cavity detuning, the applied driving field detuning and vacuum Rabi coupling, we can produce an entangled coherent state in two single-mode cavities and generate the entangled coherent cluster states in two bimodal vacuum cavities. Tuning these parameters also allows us to acquire the anti-Jaynes–Cummings (AJC) interaction, with which we can generate the maximally two-photon entangled states, and the two-atom and the two-photon entangled cluster states.
