Construction of the Barut-Girardello type of coherent states for Pöschl-Teller potential

Abstract

The Pöschl-Teller (PT) potential occupies a privileged place among the anharmonic oscillator potentials due to its applications from quantum mechanics to diatomic molecules. For this potential, a polynomial su(1, 1) algebra has been constructed previously. So far, the coherent states (CSs) associated with this algebra have never appeared. In this paper, we construct the coherent states of the Barut-Girardello coherent states (BG-CSs) type for the PT potentials, which have received less attention in the scientific literature. We obtain these CSs and demonstrate that they fulfil all conditions required by the coherent state. The Mandel parameter for the pure BG-CSs and Husimi’s and P-quasi distributions (for the mixed-thermal states) is also presented. Finally, the exponential form of the BG-CSs for the PT potential has been presented and enabled us to build Perelomov type CSs for the PT potential. We point out that the BG-CSs and the Perelomov type coherent states (PCSs) are related via Laplace transform.

Temporally stable coherent states for infinite well and Pöschl–Teller potentials

Jean-Pierre Antoine, Jean‐Pierre Gazeau, Pascal Monceau +2 more

This article is a direct illustration of a construction of coherent states which has been recently proposed by two of us (JPG and JK). We have chosen the example of a particle trapped in an infinite square-well and also in Pöschl–Teller potentials of the trigonometric type. In the construction of the corresponding coherent states, we take advantage of the simplicity of the solutions, which ultimately stems from the fact they share a common SU(1,1) symmetry à la Barut-Girardello. Many properties of these states are then studied, both from mathematical and from physical points of view.

Bosonic andk-fermionic coherent states for a class of polynomial Weyl–Heisenberg algebras

Mohammed Daoud A, M. Kibler

The aim of this paper is to construct coherent states à la Perelomov and à la Barut–Girardello for a polynomial Weyl–Heisenberg algebra. This generalized Weyl–Heisenberg algebra, denoted by , depends on r real parameters and is an extension of the one-parameter algebra (Daoud and Kibler 2010 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 43 115303) which covers the cases of the su (1, 1) algebra (for κ > 0), the su (2) algebra (for κ < 0) and the h 4 ordinary Weyl–Heisenberg algebra (for κ = 0). For finite-dimensional representations of and , where is a truncation of order s of in the sense of Pegg–Barnett, a connection is established with k -fermionic algebras (or quon algebras). This connection makes it possible to use generalized Grassmann variables for constructing certain coherent states. Coherent states of the Perelomov type are derived for infinite-dimensional representations of and for finite-dimensional representations of and through a Fock–Bargmann analytical approach based on the use of complex (or bosonic) variables. The same approach is applied for deriving coherent states of the Barut–Girardello type in the case of infinite-dimensional representations of . In contrast, the construction of coherent states à la Barut–Girardello for finite-dimensional representations of and can be achieved solely at the price of replacing complex variables by generalized Grassmann (or k -fermionic) variables. Some of the results are applied to su (2), su (1, 1) and the harmonic oscillator (in a truncated or not truncated form). GENERALIZED COHERENT STATES FOR POLYNOMIAL WEYL-HEISENBERG ALGEBRAS

M. Kibler, Mohammed Daoud A

It is the aim of this paper to show how to construct Perelomov and Barut-Girardello coherent states for a polynomial Weyl-Heisenberg algebra. This algebra depends on r parameters. For some special values of the parameter corresponding to r = 1, the algebra covers the cases of the su(1,1) algebra, the su(2) algebra and the ordinary Weyl-Heisenberg or oscillator algebra. For r arbitrary, the generalized Weyl-Heisenberg algebra admits finite or infinite-dimensional representations depending on the values of the parameters. Coherent states of the Perelomov type are derived in finite and infinite dimensions through a Fock-Bargmann approach based on the use of complex variables. The same approach is applied for deriving coherent states of the Barut-Girardello type in infinite dimension. In contrast, the construction of Barut-Girardello coherent states in finite dimension can be achieved solely at the price to replace complex variables by generalized Grassmann variables. Finally, some preliminary developments are given for the study of Bargmann functions associated with some of the coherent states obtained in this work.

Photon-added Barut$ndash$Girardello coherent states of the pseudoharmonic oscillator

Du$scheck$an Popov

In a previous paper (Popov D 2001 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 34 5283) we have constructed the coherent states (CSs) of the pseudoharmonic oscillator (PHO). These states are of the Barut–Girardello type. In the present paper, we have constructed and investigated some properties of the photon-added Barut–Girardello coherent states (PA-BGCSs) of the PHO. These states are not orthogonal but are normalized and satisfy a unity resolution relation (the completeness relation). We have found the analytical form for the positive weight function in the resolution of unity. By using these states, we have calculated some expectation values (the first two powers of the number operator N ), which have evinced some non-classical properties. In order to examine the statistical properties of a PHO gas, which obeys the quantum canonical distribution, the diagonal P -representation of the density operator ρ ( m ) is constructed and the thermal expectation values are calculated. All these quantities are expressed in terms of Meijer G -functions, and so the PA-BGCSs are a new field of application for these functions. Also, the time dependence of the PA-BGCSs is examined. If in the obtained results we put m = 0, we recover all the results from our previous paper.

Coherent states for a polynomialsu(1, 1) algebra and a conditionally solvable system

Muhammad Sadiq, Akira Inomata, Georg Junker

In a previous paper (2007 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 40 11105), we constructed a class of coherent states for a polynomially deformed su (2) algebra. In this paper, we first prepare the discrete representations of the nonlinearly deformed su (1, 1) algebra. Then we extend the previous procedure to construct a discrete class of coherent states for a polynomial su (1, 1) algebra which contains the Barut–Girardello set and the Perelomov set of the SU (1, 1) coherent states as special cases. We also construct coherent states for the cubic algebra related to the conditionally solvable radial oscillator problem.
