Abstract

The Perelomov and the Barut–Girardello SU(1, 1) coherent states for harmonic oscillator in one-dimensional half space are constructed. Results show that the uncertainty products ΔxΔp for these two coherent states are bound from below [Formula: see text] that is the uncertainty for the ground state, and the mean values for position x and momentum p in classical limit go over to their classical quantities respectively. In classical limit, the uncertainty given by Perelomov coherent does not vanish, and the Barut–Girardello coherent state reveals a node structure when positioning closest to the boundary x = 0 which has not been observed in coherent states for other systems.

Coherent states of su(1,1): correlations, fluctuations, and the pseudoharmonic oscillator

John Schliemann

Abstract We extend recent results on expectation values of coherent oscillator states and SU(2) coherent states to the case of the discrete representations of su(1,1). Systematic semiclassical expansions of products of arbitrary operators are derived. In particular, the leading order of the energy uncertainty of an arbitrary Hamiltonian is found to be given purely in terms of the time dependence of the classical variables. The coherent states considered here include the Perelomov–Gilmore (PG) coherent states. As an important application we discuss the pseudoharmonic oscillator and compare the PG states with the states introduced by Barut and Girardello. The latter ones turn out to be closer to the classical limit as their relative energy variance decays with the inverse square root of energy, while in the former case a constant is approached.

UNCERTAINTY RELATION IN THE BARUT–GIRARDELLO COHERENT STATE FOR THE TIME-DEPENDENT SINGULAR OSCILLATOR

Jeong Ryeol Choi

The SU (1,1) generators are considered in order to investigate the uncertainty relation in the Barut–Girardello coherent state for the time-dependent singular oscillator. The corresponding uncertainty product is obtained by evaluating the expectation values of the canonical variables and their squares.

EXACT SOLUTIONS, LADDER OPERATORS AND BARUT–GIRARDELLO COHERENT STATES FOR A HARMONIC OSCILLATOR PLUS AN INVERSE SQUARE POTENTIAL

Shi‐Hai Dong, Marcelo Lozada‐Cassou

We present exact solutions of the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with a harmonic oscillator plus an inverse square potential. The ladder operators are constructed by the factorization method. We find that these operators satisfy the commutation relations of the generators of the dynamical group SU(1, 1). Based on those ladder operators, we obtain the analytical expressions of matrix elements for some related functions ρ and [Formula: see text] with ρ=x2. Finally, we make some comments on the Barut–Girardello coherent states and the hidden symmetry between E(x) and E(ix) by substituting x→ix.

Bosonic andk-fermionic coherent states for a class of polynomial Weyl–Heisenberg algebras

Mohammed Daoud A, M. Kibler

The aim of this paper is to construct coherent states à la Perelomov and à la Barut–Girardello for a polynomial Weyl–Heisenberg algebra. This generalized Weyl–Heisenberg algebra, denoted by , depends on r real parameters and is an extension of the one-parameter algebra (Daoud and Kibler 2010 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 43 115303) which covers the cases of the su (1, 1) algebra (for κ > 0), the su (2) algebra (for κ < 0) and the h 4 ordinary Weyl–Heisenberg algebra (for κ = 0). For finite-dimensional representations of and , where is a truncation of order s of in the sense of Pegg–Barnett, a connection is established with k -fermionic algebras (or quon algebras). This connection makes it possible to use generalized Grassmann variables for constructing certain coherent states. Coherent states of the Perelomov type are derived for infinite-dimensional representations of and for finite-dimensional representations of and through a Fock–Bargmann analytical approach based on the use of complex (or bosonic) variables. The same approach is applied for deriving coherent states of the Barut–Girardello type in the case of infinite-dimensional representations of . In contrast, the construction of coherent states à la Barut–Girardello for finite-dimensional representations of and can be achieved solely at the price of replacing complex variables by generalized Grassmann (or k -fermionic) variables. Some of the results are applied to su (2), su (1, 1) and the harmonic oscillator (in a truncated or not truncated form). Barut—Girardello Coherent States for Nonlinear Oscillator with Position-Dependent Mass

Naila Amir, Shahid Iqbal

Abstract Using ladder operators for the non-linear oscillator with position-dependent effective mass, realization of the dynamic group SU(1,1) is presented. Keeping in view the algebraic structure of the non-linear oscillator, coherent states are constructed using Barut—Girardello formalism and their basic properties are discussed. Furthermore, the statistical properties of these states are investigated by means of Mandel parameter and second order correlation function. Moreover, it is shown that in the harmonic limit, all the results obtained for the non-linear oscillator with spatially varying mass reduce to corresponding results of the linear oscillator with constant mass.
