Entanglement fidelity of coherent-state teleportation with asymmetric quantum channel

Abstract

A strategy for teleporting coherent states with the entanglement fidelity is considered in the general case of an asymmetric teleportation scheme. It is shown that the nonbalanced homodyne detection with the subsequent coherent displacement is required to provide the average teleportation fidelity of entanglement.

Teleportation of Coherent-State Qubits with Asymmetric and Lossy Entanglement Distribution

Davide Andromari, Andrea Giani, Moe Z. Win +1 more

Quantum teleportation enables transferring quantum states by leveraging entanglement. The distribution of entangled states is challenged by decoherence, which degrades the teleportation performance. Continuous-variable teleportation with coherent-state qubits has gained particular interest because it can provide better performance than discrete-variable teleportation with polarization-encoded qubits and is more resilient to decoherence. However, most existing schemes employ a specific configuration of coherent-state qubits, namely Schrödinger cat states, and assume symmetric photon-loss channels. This work explores the teleportation of qubits based on coherent states through asymmetric quantum channels impaired by photon loss. First, we characterize the teleportation protocol for arbitrary coherent-state qubit configurations considering asymmetric and photon-loss channels. Then, we present case studies under both ideal entanglement distribution and lossy conditions. Results reveal a trade-off between state distinguishability and teleportation fidelity, providing insight into the optimal design of coherent-state qubits in practical teleportation protocols.

Teleportation of a coherent superposition state via a nonmaximally entangled coherent channel

Yi-Zhuang Zheng, Yongjian Gu, Guang‐Can Guo

We investigate the problem of teleportation of a superposition coherent state via a nonmaximally entangled coherent channel. Two strategies are considered to complete the task. The first one uses entanglement concentration to purify the channel to a maximally entangled one. The second one teleports the state through the nonmaximally entangled coherent channel directly. We find that the probabilities of successful teleportation for the two strategies depend on the amplitudes of the coherent states, and the mean fidelity of teleportation using the first strategy is always less than that using the second strategy.

Continuous-variable quantum teleportation of entanglement

Tyler J. Johnson, Stephen D. Bartlett, Barry C. Sanders

Entangled coherent states can be used to determine the entanglement fidelity for a device that is designed to teleport coherent states. This entanglement fidelity is universal in that the calculation is independent of the use of entangled coherent states and applies generally to the teleportation of entanglement using coherent states. The average fidelity is shown to be a poor indicator of the capability of teleporting entanglement; i.e., very high average fidelity for the quantum teleportation apparatus can still result in low entanglement fidelity for one-mode of the two-mode entangled coherent states.

Teleportation of superposed coherent states using nonmaximally entangled resources

Hari Prakash, Manoj Kumar Mishra

We consider the problem of teleporting superposed coherent state using nonmaximally entangled coherent state (NMECS) as quantum channel and study the effect of entanglement on the quality of teleportation. Based on the amount of entanglement shared between the sender and the receiver, we propose two unitary operation strategies to be adopted by the receiver to recover replica of information state with as large a fidelity as possible, and analyzed the behavior of minimum average fidelity (MAF) and mean fidelity (MF) with respect to entanglement. It is fascinatingly found that if the maximally entangled coherent state used in previously proposed schemes is replaced by a particular NMECS, MAF of quantum teleportation increases appreciably at small coherent amplitudes. For coherent amplitudes with |α|2≤0.5, MECS gives higher MF, while for |α|2≥0.5, NMECS gives higher MF.

The use of the output states generated by the broadcasting of entanglement in quantum teleportation

Iulia Ghiu, Catalina Cirneci, George Alexandru Nemnes

In this article, we find a theorem that gives a relation between the maximal fidelity of teleportation and the concurrence of the inseparable $X$ state used as a quantum channel in this process. Furthermore, we evaluate the concurrence of the output states generated by the local and nonlocal asymmetric broadcasting of entanglement and prove that the concurrence is greater in the case of nonlocal broadcasting. We analyze the possibility of using the output states obtained by the broadcasting of entanglement as quantum channels in quantum teleportation. We prove, with the help of the above-mentioned theorem, that all the inseparable states given by the local and nonlocal asymmetric broadcasting of entanglement are useful for quantum teleportation. Finally, we show that the maximal fidelity of teleportation is greater in the case when the second scenario is used, i.e., when the quantum channel is generated by the nonlocal asymmetric broadcasting of entanglement.
