ANALYSIS OF CORRELATION FUNCTION AND POLARIZATION ENTANGLEMENT OF PHOTON PAIRS GENERATED FROM ANISOTROPIC SEMICONDUCTOR QUANTUM DOT

Shao‐Ding Liu, Mu-Tian Cheng, Xia Wang +1 more

The dynamics of the population density matrix and polarization density matrix of the biexciton system of single semiconductor quantum dots with pulse excitation were analyzed by using master equations and quantum regression theorem. A model based on the spectral distributions of the cascade photon emissions was proposed to calculate the polarization entanglement of the photon pairs emitted from the non-degenerate biexciton system with spectral filters. The influences of the spectral filter width and the exciton energy splitting between the two orthogonally polarized eigenstates on the entanglement were theoretically analyzed. The dependence of the polarization entanglement on the input pulse area was also discussed.

QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT TRANSFER BETWEEN SPIN PAIRS

QING-YOU MENG, FU-LIN ZHANG, JING-LING CHEN

The transfer of entanglement from source particles (SPs) to target particles (TPs) via the Heisenberg interaction H = s1 ⋅ s2 has been investigated. In our research, TPs are two qubits and SPs are two qubits or qutrits. When TPs are two qubits, we find that no matter what state the TPs are initially prepared in, at the specific time t = π the quantity of entanglement of the TPs can attain 1 after interaction with the SPs which stay on the maximally entangled state. When TPs are two qutrits, the maximal quantity of entanglement of the TPs is proportional to the quantity of entanglement of the initial state of the TPs and cannot attain 1 for almost all the initial states of the TPs. Here we propose an iterated operation which can make the TPs go to the maximal entangled state.

IMPROVING THE ENTANGLEMENT DIVERSION BETWEEN TWO PAIRS OF ENTANGLED COHERENT STATES

We propose a change in the scheme of Xin-Hua for entanglement diversion between two pairs of entangled coherent states using beam splitter, two-phase shifters, and photon counting measurements. We find that an almost perfect diversion of entanglement is possible if an appreciable mean number of photons are present.
