Abstract

In this paper, the disentanglement-free state is prepared by using the cavity QED technique. Through this disentanglement-free state we have obtained a long-distance Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pair. By using n EPR pairs of distance-atom and n distance-cavity, the entanglement of the n distance-cavity has been obtained. This entanglement can then be used in quantum communications.

Generation of Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Pairs of Atoms

E. W. Hagley, Xavier Maı̂tre, Gilles Nogues +4 more

Pairs of atoms have been prepared in an entangled state of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) type. They were produced by the exchange of a single photon between the atoms in a high $Q$ cavity. The atoms, entangled in a superposition involving two different circular Rydberg states, were separated by a distance of the order of 1 cm. At variance with most previous EPR experiments, this one involves massive particles. It can be generalized to three or more atoms and opens the way to new tests of nonlocality in mesoscopic quantum systems.

Disentanglement-free state of two pairs of two-level atoms

Chui‐Ping Yang, Guang‐Can Guo

In this paper, a system composed of two pairs of two-level atoms and a multimode-vacuum field is considered. In our model, either pair contains two atoms that are assumed to be set close. We propose a disentanglement-free state of the two pairs of two-level atoms. It is remarkable that when the two pairs, initially in such a state, fly apart an arbitrary distance, the state will undergo no decoherence. By means of such a state, we can prepare the perfect Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen pair shared by two ``distant'' parties and realize long-distance entanglement swapping. Finally, a method for preparing such a disentanglement-free state is presented.

Position-momentum Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen state of distantly separated trapped atoms

A. S. Parkins, Harry J. Kimble

We propose a scheme for preparing an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen state in position and momentum of a pair of distantly separated trapped atoms. The scheme utilizes the entangled light fields output from a nondegenerate optical parametric amplifier. Quantum-state exchange between these fields and the motional states of the trapped atoms is accomplished via interactions in cavity QED.

Teleportation of a two-atom entangled state using a single EPR pair in cavity QED

Xin Ji, Li Ke, Zhang Shou

We propose a scheme for teleporting a two-atom entangled state in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). In the scheme, we choose a single Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) pair as the quantum channel which is shared by the sender and the receiver. By using the atom–cavity-field interaction and introducing an additional atom, we can teleport the two-atom entangled state successfully with a probability of 1.0. Moreover, we show that the scheme is insensitive to cavity decay and thermal field.

Preparation and Decoherence of Two-Atom Entangled States in a Dissipative Cavity

Shao-Hua Xiang, Kehui Song

We present a scheme for generating four pairs of two-atom Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen (EPR) states using the simultaneous interaction of the two atoms with a single-mode cavity field under a large detuning condition. The influence of cavity dissipation on the prepared EPR states is investigated by means of the superoperator method and the state fidelity. It is shown that some kinds of the prepared EPR states are robust against cavity dissipation and the intensity of the field, and maintain their entanglement invariance, and the others are fragile and completely destroyed by the action of cavity dissipation and the intensity of the field in the long-time limit. Decoherence time of the fragile entangled states is extremely small for a typical cavity-QED experimental data.

Preparation and Application of Quantum Entangled State Based on Cavity QED

Quantum entangled state is an important and useful physical resource,it plays a very important role in quantum computation and quantum communication. In the quantum communication, information processing is dependent on the quantum state and its evolution. In the various kinds of quantum states, quantum entangled state is the most important one,it is used to test the fundamental principles of quantum mechanics, and it also takes an important role in quantum communication,so the preparation and operation of quantum entangled state became especially important. This article introduced the theoretical method of cavity quantum electrodynamics(cavity QED) in the first, and then it tells the definition of quantum entangled state and how to measure it,based on it we introduced the specific process of two atoms entangled state and more than two atoms entangled state by the use of cavity QED under resonance interaction. Finally we introduced some important applications of the quantum entangled state in quantum information.
