Abstract

In this paper we introduce the quadratic Weyl operators canonically associated to the one mode renormalized square of white noise (RSWN) algebra as unitary operator acting on the one mode interacting Fock space {Γ, {ωn, n ∈ ℕ}, Φ} where {ωn, n ∈ ℕ} is the principal Jacobi sequence of the nonstandard (i.e. neither Gaussian nor Poisson) Meixner classes. We deduce the quadratic Weyl relations and construct the quadratic analogue of the Heisenberg Lie group with one degree of freedom. In particular, we determine the manifold structure of the group and introduce a local chart containing the identity on which the group law has a simple rational expression in the chart coordinates (see Theorem 6.3).

Polynomial Extensions of the Weyl C*-Algebra

Luigi Accardi, Ameur Dhahri

We introduce higher order (polynomial) extensions of the unique (up to isomorphisms) nontrivial central extension of the Heisenberg algebra, which can be concretely realized as sub-Lie algebras of the polynomial algebra generated by the creation and annihilation operators in the Schrödinger representation. The simplest nontrivial of these extensions (the quadratic one) is isomorphic to the Galilei algebra, widely studied in quantum physics. By exponentiation of this representation we construct the corresponding polynomial analogue of the Weyl [Formula: see text]-algebra and compute the polynomial Weyl relations. From this we deduce the explicit form of the composition law of the associated nonlinear extensions of the 1-dimensional Heisenberg group. The above results are used to calculate a simple explicit form of the vacuum characteristic functions of the nonlinear field operators of the Galilei algebra, as well as of their moments. The corresponding measures turn out to be an interpolation family between Gaussian and Meixner, in particular Gamma.

Identification of the one-mode quadratic Heisenberg group with the projective group PSU(1,1) and holomorphic representation

Habib Rebei, Hafedh M. S. Rguigui, Anis Riahi +1 more

In this paper, we provide a new reformulation of the quadratic analogue of the Weyl relations. Especially, we offer some adjustments [10] on these relations and the corresponding group law, i.e., the quadratic Heisenberg group law. We provide a much more transparent description of the underlying manifold and we give a connection with the projective group PSU(1,1). Finally, we deduce such a holomorphic realization of the quadratic Heisenberg group.

Group Quantization of Quadratic Hamiltonians in Finance

Garcia, Santiago

The Group Quantization formalism is a scheme for constructing a functional space that is an irreducible infinite dimensional representation of the Lie algebra belonging to a dynamical symmetry group. We apply this formalism to the construction of functional space and operators for quadratic potentials -- gaussian pricing kernels in finance. We describe the Black-Scholes theory, the Ho-Lee interest rate model and the Euclidean repulsive and attractive oscillators. The symmetry group used in this work has the structure of a principal bundle with base (dynamical) group a semi-direct extension of the Heisenberg-Weyl group by SL(2,R), and structure group (fiber) the positive real line.

Infinite degrees of freedom Weyl representation: Characterization and application

Abdessatar Barhoumi, Bilel Kacem Ben Ammou, Hafedh M. S. Rguigui

By means of infinite-dimensional nuclear spaces, we generalize important results on the representation of the Weyl commutation relations. For this purpose, we construct a new nuclear Lie group generalizing the groups introduced by Parthasarathy [An Introduction to Quantum Stochastic Calculus (Birkhäuser, 1992)] and Gelfand–Vilenkin [Generalized Functions (Academic Press, 1964)] (see Ref. 15). Then we give an explicit construction of Weyl representations generated from a non-Fock representation. Moreover, we characterize all these Weyl representations in quantum white noise setting.

Quadratic Representations of the Canonical Commutation Relations

Martin Proksch, G. Reents, Stephen J. Summers

This paper studies a class of representations (called quadratic) of the canonical commutation relations over symplectic spaces of arbitrary dimension, which naturally generalizes coherent and symplectic (i.e. quasifree) representations and which has previously been heuristically employed in the special case of finite degrees of freedom in the physics literature. An explicit characterization of canonical quadratic transformations in terms of a 'standard form' is given, and it is shown that they can be exponentiated to give representations of the Weyl algebra. Necessary and sufficient conditions are presented for the unitary equivalence of these representations with the Fock representation. Possible applications to quantum optics and quantum field theory are briefly indicated.

White noise quantum time shifts

Luigi Accardi, Abdessatar Barhoumi, Habib Ouerdiane +1 more

Abstract In the present paper, we extend the notion of quantum time shift, and the related results obtained in [Accardi, Barhoumi and Ouerdiane, Infin. Dimens. Anal. Quantum Probab. Relat. Top. 9: 215–248, 2006], from representations of current algebras of the Heisenberg Lie algebra to representations of current algebras of the Oscillator Lie algebra. This produces quantum extensions of a class of classical Lévy processes much wider than the usual Brownian motion. In particular, this class of processes includes the Meixner processes and, by an approximation procedure, we construct quantum extensions of all classical Lévy processes with a Lévy measure with finite variance. Finally, we compute the explicit form of the action, on the Weyl operators of the initial space, of the generators of the quantum Markov processes canonically associated to the above class of Lévy processes. The emergence of the Meixner classes in connection with the renormalized second order white noise, is now well known. The fact that they also emerge from first order noise in a simple and canonical way comes somehow as a surprise.
