Abstract

We propose a feasible scheme to achieve universal quantum gate operations in decoherence-free subspace with superconducting charge qubits placed in a microwave cavity. Single-logic-qubit gates can be realized with cavity assisted interaction, which possesses the advantages of unconventional geometric gate operation. The two-logic-qubit controlled-phase gate between subsystems can be constructed with the help of a variable electrostatic transformer. The collective decoherence can be successfully avoided in our well-designed system. Moreover, GHZ state for logical qubits can also be easily produced in this system.

Resonant interaction scheme for GHZ state preparation and quantum phase gate with superconducting qubits in a cavity

Xin Liu, Qinghong Liao, Guangyu Fang +2 more

A scheme is proposed to generate GHZ state and realize quantum phase gate for superconducting qubits placed in a microwave cavity. This scheme uses resonant interaction between the qubits and the cavity mode, so that the interaction time is short, which is important in view of decoherence. In particular, the phase gate can be realized simply with a single interaction between the qubits and the cavity mode. With cavity decay being considered, the fidelity and success probability are both very close to unity.

Influence of cavity decay on unconventional geometric quantum phase gates with superconducting quantum-interference-device qubits inside a cavity

Zhengang Shi, Xiongwen Chen, Kehui Song

We propose a potential scheme for carrying out two-qubit unconventional geometric logic gates on two identical superconducting quantum-interference-device (SQUID) qubits coupled to a single-mode microwave field. The geometric logic gate operation is performed in two lower flux states, and the excited state |2 does not participate in the procedure. The SQUIDs undergo no transitions during gate operation. Thus, the decoherence due to energy spontaneous emission based on the levels of SQUIDs is suppressed. We present the two-qubit unconventional geometric logic gates in both an ideal cavity and a real cavity with decay. Discussions about the fidelity and the success probability of the proposed scheme as well as the experimental feasibility are given in detail.

Unconventional Geometric Phase Gate with Superconducting Quantum Interference Device Qubits in Cavity QED

Wen‐Xing Yang, Ai-Xi Chen

In the system with superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUID) in cavity, a scheme for constructing two-qubit quantum phase gate via a conventional geometric phase-shift is proposed by using a quantized cavity field and classical microwave pulses. In this scheme, the gate operation is realized in the subspace spanned by the two lower flux states of the SQUID system and the population operator of the excited state has no effect on it. Thus the effect of decoherence caused from the levels of the SQUID system is possible to minimize. Under cavity decay, our strictly numerical simulation shows that it is also possible to realize the unconventional geometric phase gate. The experimental feasibility is discussed in detail.

Quantum computation in decoherence-free subspaces for overcoming bit-flip error in cavity QED

陈月月, 刘呈普, 冯勋立 +3 more

Universal quantum computation overcoming influnce of bit-flip error is realized by suppressing collective decoherence with decoherence-free subspace method. The scheme is based on cavity QED system. A logical bit is encoded by two adjacent atoms trapped in a cavity, and a four-dimensional decoherence-free subspace is constructed to suppress the collective bit reversal error. By adjusting the coupling between the external optical field and cavity, two noncommutative single-qubit operations and a controlled phase gate are implemented in decoherence-free subspace. Universal quantum computation overcoming the collective bit reversal error is realized.
